BUT DONT BE FOOLED! he is a very nice old man. he knows a lot about what he;s talking about -- almost so much that its sometimes hard to follow haha. but he does an interesting was of teaching. you get out of it what you put into it. just keep up with your journals and youll learn alot. really.

He's not your usual professor, but he will provide you with useful information and insights if you are patient. He sometimes has the habit of rambling, but he and the course are worth it.

Comment:
Class has no clear direction and students are often left scratching their heads. I often left that class exhausted, not because the work was difficult, but from exerting myself to follow the nonsensical mess coming out of his mouth. Not timely with feedback from journals, and when feedback is given, it is not helpful. DO NOT TAKE THIS "PROFESSOR"!

He is horrible! He asks a question, a student reponds and refutes his point. He then switches topics before anyone can notice. If you enjoy having a professor's own political views wielded as an ideological baton, then take his course. If you can, stay away.

Awesome professor. You make your own syllabus and learn what you want to. The class is what you make out of it, so it's up to you to do the work and give input in class. Definitely take a class with him and don't listen to those other fools, he is interesting and he makes learning fun again.

Boring as hell, but also easy as hell. I'd take another Mason class just because you can do almost zero work and get a decent grade.

This class was a huge waste of time. There was no organization or direction. And lets be honest, this means that most people will just slack off. That's exactly what happened. I didn't learn a damn thing by bsing my way through daily journals.

Professor Mason is the antichrist of logical thought. He asks questions, yet never provides, or even entertains, answers to the world's problems. If you aren't Liberal, be prepared to get frustrated.

Prof. Mason taught me a lot about myself and sociology. I still think about his class now (soc of education) in my chosen field, education. You had to work hard, but it was worth it.

Mason is very nontraditional, but that's a good thing! He won't spell out for you what you must know- it's not math class. He works with the feedback he gets from students. You'll learn a lot & enjoy it, if you are willing to think and learn for yourself.

Mason is the worst teacher ever! Don't take any of his courses unless you like listening to the same boring lectures every day. He has no clue what organization and critical focus means although he likes to say the words a lot. Bad syllabus too.

If you are a self-directed learner, he is the professor for you. Your main way of evaluation is through journals that reflect your thoughts on the readings and class discussion. It was one of the best classes I've taken here at the colleges.
