Although kind, Mr. Summers is not a professor I'd recommend. He takes entirely too long to return grades, and as a result, students are left little room to improve in the class.

Professor Summers was such a great teacher to have. Your main grades are from the papers you write. His prompts are usually really fun to do and they allow you to be more personal! He likes to tell stories and talk a lot but I always enjoyed it. I would highly recommend taking his class.

He is everything you need as a professor. He is not a tough grader. Yes, he does procrastinate a lot and you have to wait months till you get your grades back, but he is a fair grader. I hundred percent recommend him to all the students out there who want A, just work lil hard. He is good, I'm telling you. I took him Fall 2018 and he made my year.

He is a really laid back teacher, his class is a lecture class, you write papers but you have choices on your topic and can really mold it to be your style. If you miss a class here or there it's not a big deal. Super chill, gets along with students, I left early every day and he didn't seem to care. The only thing is he takes forever to grade!!

This class would have been a breeze had he not taken months to grade 3-page papers. He procrastinates beyond anyone I have ever met. You do have to read the material and implement insight, however as long your work is logical he grades appropriately. He would be fantastic in a larger university lecturing with TAs to control grading and organization

Mr. Summers was the best! I really enjoyed his class and was sad when the semester was over. He is one of those teachers you never forget. He does ramble and repeats himself constantly, but his personality makes up for it. You can tell he has a true passion for what he is teaching. Hes lenient on grading but you will read a lot in this class.

Takes attendance at the end of class, you can literally show up with 5 minutes left and be counted present. He lectures every class, can get dry but he has good sense of humor. Put in effort and you will pass. Very knowledgeable. Had him twice in CC, loved every minute.

He is just great. I took Eng 112 with him and I got a B when I could have easily gotten an A hadn't i missed classes and some work. If you don't miss work and give your best you're definitely gonna pass his class. He also explains well and tells you what is expected from you.

I love this man and forced him to tell me what other courses he was teaching so I could register for those as well. It's easy to create a relationship with him and he looks out for his students. He gives great feedback on papers, which is where you're going to get most of your help. He does ramble but he's brilliant.

Comment:

This is a class that is best taken online, as long as you are an independent worker. He posts assignments with a brief but clear description. You rarely get feedback from him, and he is a slow grader. Yesterday was the last day of class and there are 4 or 5 assignments he still hasnt graded. No tests, very easy to pass. The longest paper was 6 pgs

He's not very clear on most directions but if you ask, he'll explain better. He papers he has you write are all so easy you should pass with a high A. Beware, he compares a lot of material to sexual acts and he runs off on a tangent for more than half the class.

If you pay attention, you won't fail. He does his best to engage and relate his students in relevant topics that tie into what he's teaching. I took his ENG-112 class and he used a lot of current events as examples for argumentative techniques. He's a tough grader but if you use the comments to improve your future essays, you'll do well.

He is one of those proffessors that you would want to have as a friend. Yes, he goes on an on about certain topics but listen,he knows a lot. Do the readings and talk to him about them, he brings in a great perspective and will help you dissect it. Summers is a one of a kind, and is a pleasure to talk to. GREAT professor.

Everyday I sit through this man's class and it's torture. He goes on and on about anything that comes to his brain and none of it means anything. Everyday I have to go to class thinking he'll say something of importance, but it never comes.

He did not teach the entire semester.He would always talk about things off topic. We would ask him questions & he would say we would cover them next class, never did. Assigned Mayor Writing Projects, never explained how to do them. Nobody in the class got an A. For all my papers i would get a 87. It seemed like a set grade for many of us.
