He is a very fun teacher and he will keep you interested but he moves so fast and often times makes mistakes which confused me so much so i would go to read the book and think to myself "why doesnt he just teach it like the book says"-he sometimes teaches something dif. from book. his way of explaining makes it harder then it really is-he was fun

the math class (meant for elem ed students) was SO easy. if you do well enough, you won't have to take the final which would have been easy anyways. the subject matter is simple and even if he isn't a great professor, the class is easy.

My first mistake was taking an 8:00am finite math class... Dr. J is a nice guy, but he should really retire sometime (soon). He confuses himself, which confused me. He is funny though, so at least it kept me awake. I'm not going to get a great grade- I am terrible at math, but this class was more than bearable. He's also a very helpful prof.

Worst experience of my life! Dr. J not only confused me, but he'd confuse himself too. I had to teach myself EVERYTHING. He's a nice guy...but there comes a point of RETIREMENT!

Dr. J is not a good teacher. He gets confused very easily and confuses his students even more. It was a rare day when I actually understood what we did in class. Dr. J is a really nice guy, but he's not a good teacher. BTW, his jokes weren't funny either!

He is hilarious, always telling jokes and making fun of people (but not offending them). Makes class fun but basically had to teach myself everything. Doesn't lecture very well and gets himself confused.

i hated math, but dr. j. made it bearable. math is terribly difficult for me, but dr. j. is extremely helpful and totally willing to take time out of his day to help students. his stories and jokes are hilarious and he's a really sweet person. if you have to take math, this is the professor you want.

Tells some funny jokes and makes class go by fast, but it was pretty impossible for me to learn anything from his lectures. If you want to put in extra time to get help you would do fine.

Not hard but not easy. Can be confusing at times and seems to not tell you some important stuff for the assignments. He's getting old, you can tell, but likes to joke around which keeps you awake. He cares and tries hard to have us enjoy the material even though its hard to enjoy math. Great guy.

Hilarious Prof...never laughed so much in a class but a very confusing teacher. He gets sidetracked very easily and screws up almost every example he does on the board. He is however, very willing to help so if you want to put in the extra time he'll help you.

Dr. J is by far my favorite prof at CSB/SJU. I hated math until taking his class. He's funny and is a great teacher..definitely the most fun class i've taken here. That doesn't mean the material was easy, but he makes it more fun! Take Dr. J--he's a great old guy and fun to learn from.

Dr. J. does not seem concerned at all that his students understand the material. As long as just one person understands, he moves on, even if the rest are floundering. So much homework, and difficult grading on tests. Also, seating charts...i usually sit front-center, and being in the back was tough

He is awesome. He jokes around a lot, but explains things well. Would have had an A if it weren't for the words of the problem questions, those are tough at the beginning. TAKE DR J!
