Comment:

Really funny guy, makes boring literature readings interesting. Two papers, midterm, final, and in-class writings. Midterm and final were both 5 page papers. Gives good feedback on writings. Takes attendance and grades in class writing. His grading scale is a little bit unclear, but overall a pretty easy professor and definitely worth taking .

easy grader. there is a lot of reading tho. like 2 plays per week so that's like 150-200 pages per week and then we have to write 200 words about it. it's not hard to get a 1010 on his weekly assignments and you're allowed to miss up to 4 classes. you learn a lot about life. class isn't difficult if you put in some effort and use sparknotes

Bobbito Combs doesn't play around. Eugene O'Neill scholar and all around Southern genius, he is funny, mad, adorable, and devilishly handsome all at once. You don't have to know Ibsen from Shakespeare to have several minor intellectual epiphanies within his class.

AMAZING PROFESSOR..AMAZING!!!!!!!!! I'm a theatre major but even so, he made me love drama so much more..WOW..He isn't a hard grader at all but even so, when he writes that he liked something you wrote, he tells you and it's the best feeling because he already is suuch an encyclopedia of knowledge! Ive taken both of his drama clases

Prof. Combs is simply a jolly good guy. He has a very interesting mix of informed cynism with a joyful outlook on life. He does lecture extensively, but keeps it alive w/ unique, striking (and often hilarious) comments. He's also very welcome to student input. He can be a bit closed-minded to certain opinions and ways of expressing them in essays.

Professor Combs is amazing! He knows a great deal about his subject, but he also brings his often colorful life experience to the class. The plays you read in this class are some of the best I'd never come across before and some old standards that I loved revisiting. He is not a hard grader, but you're missing out on a great experience if you slack

The only class I look forward to every week. I've taken both sections of American Drama with him, and plan on taking short story next year. Best professor I've ever had. Take his class, he will make you interested in literature if you aren't yet. LOVE him.

american lit - amazing. fun professor. classes discussion-based and dynamic. grades on your effort, basically. if you're a decent writer and participate in class once in a while, easy A (I mean like 100% A, not 94.) Easy but didactic. Learned plenty. Learned to like the subject. Writings not that bad. You pick what you want to write.

Excellent professor! The readings were excellent and he always gave new insights into the text. He encouraged class discussion, and you could tell he was really passionate about the material. He was very accessible and nice outside of class. Overall excellent professor and the best at GW by far!
