I had this terrible instructor in the past. I am glad he is not teaching anymore at UHD. He should have never been allowed to teach minority students. Dr. Flosi is the definition of trailer trash.

This is my first course with Dr. Flosi and i love him! I cant imagine what the people with bad reviews did. His tests are really straight forward and he gives reviews! If you are lazy then don't take his course. He doesnt post PP so learn to take notes. He expects you be adults. Don't wanna be called out? Be on time. No phones. No sleeping.

This is my second class with him. He goes over main concepts from book. Although, you don't need book for his class, it is a good idea to have one because you understand more. You go to class to take notes since he does not upload powerpoint online. He posts other stuffs online but not grades to keeps us updated. Histology is all memorization.

Do your work ON TIME, show up to class ON TIME (if it starts at 8am be there by 7:59am, do not be absent by any means, know your basic scientific data as a senior student, participate and you should do fine. He is an interesting professor and also very knowledgable. Anyone who does poorly in his classes did not put forth the effort.

Dr. Flosi is by far the worst instructor that I have ever taken at UHD. He speaks to students in a condescending manner. The exams are very difficult. This instructor is definitely a member of the triple K based on the way he talks down to students.

Took him over the summer for Bio 2! Super easy A :) all you have to do is take notes from the PowerPoint & as if that wasn't easy enough he gives a review sheet before the test. As long as you studied the review an A is basically guaranteed on the test! Also he was nice, entertaining, and helpful. Did not tolerate tardiness though!

Comment:
Overrated professor. For sure he knows the subject, he covers the material, and he is easy to talk out of the class. But his classes are nothing but repetition of the adopted book. And he talks so fast that is almost impossible to keep up. Questions in class? Not a good idea, since you may be tested or a little insulted if you do.

DR.FLOSI IS EXTREMELY HELPFUL TO THOSE THAT ASK. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY BECAUSE EVERYTHING HE COVERS IN LECTURES ARE COVERED ON EXAMS. HE COMES ACROSS AS BEING INTIMIDATING BUT ONLY BECAUSE HE WANTS EVERYONE TO SUCCEED. MATERIALS ARE FAIR AND CLEAR. IF YOU DO POORLY IN HIS CLASS IT IS MAINLY BECAUSE THE TIME AND EFFORT WAS NOT PUT FORTH.

good prof. must be in class to take notes, book not really needed. study notes and thats all you need. do what you are supposed to and you will be fine. take the class seriously and he will not have an issue with you. repetitive but its on purpose. tests can be hard, but study and you will be fine.

You have 3 exams, and a final. There are also a few assignments. The exams are manageable as long as you READ the book, along with taking good notes. Basically it's all memorization, if you're good at that, then you'll be fine. It's a lot of info per exam. He's fair, but at the same a harsh grader. He hates people being late, and cell phones.

The class: Vertebrate embryology is one of the more interesting courses in the natural sciences, take it even if you are not a biology major. The professor: fair grader, no curves. Nice guy. Seems bitter about lazy students. Wanna earn his respect? Focus a lot of time on school, become an academic, quit your job. If you can afford it.

Back in the '90s Dr Flosi taught me Gen Bio, Virol, Para, etc. Not an easy, but fair. Thanks to him and his teachings, now I have a Ph.D. in virology, two postdocs, and I'm doing what I like, science. Thanks Dr. Flosi!

He moves very fast in his lectures. Everyone by the end of the semester was bringing in their laptops to keep up with him. Tests are easy as long as you have copies of the old ones (ask around). Not a hard class, just don't come in late or prepare to be insulted.
