He talks in circles and your notes will be all over the place so it is hard to study for his tests, but if you go to class and take notes you'll be fine. You really don't even need the book either; his tests are mostly on his lecture. His lectures are extremely boring too.

Even if you agree with the guy's politics, you get tired of his ramblings. He quizzes completely off of his lectures. Write down EVERYTHING. I ended up recording him on the class before a test because I couldn't write fast enough.

Overall an easy class if you can stand to sit through liberal propaganda. He tells you everything that will be on his tests the class before the test. This guy hates Christians, conservatives, and hunters. He actually said that the only good thing about hunting is hunting accidents.

Worst teacher i've had this semester. He was not helpful at all. WOuld not answer any of my question when i had to miss the class. He only tells you to ask a classmate, and gives you no information. it sucks especially when you start the class late, and know no one in the whole class.

I had Gerlach for two classes. He likes to ramble but you have to listen to his rambling because he does talk about the subjects. Take notes! He rarely uses the book! He will give you the exam questions a class peroid ahead of time which is very useful. He will help you if needed! He is a good guy..just kind of boring.

Had to take 4 class with him. Took two class s with him one semester one was supposed to deal with culture while the other economics. It was the same lecture for both classes, but it got worse as the lecture was never about culture, economics, or even geography for that matter. I would constantly ask him if we could talk Geog but we never did.

Where to start...He gets on his soapbox every class. Don't buy the textbook, just watch when he goes back to his podium and write that down. Go to class, he checks, be there review day because he tells you everything to study for. Everyone fails the test-but he does add about 20 points so you shouldn't fail the class. He needs to retire.

Just bad. More boring than the DMV. You can't avoid him if you plan on taking Geog. So just man up and deal with it. He's bad though. Don't buy the book, seriously, just don't. Lord... I must say, I am going to miss Gerlach when this year is over. One of the best Professors I have had at this college. If you know hot to listen then take his class, if your a habitual slacker then dont. Loved him so much i had to minor in the subject.

Tells the same (sometimes funny or interesting) anecdotes over and over again. Write down everything this guy says though (except when he's soap boxing.) He says all the questions that will be on the test in rapid fire succession the week before the test. Record that audio on your laptop, it's almost impossible to write it all down.

really funny professor. one of my favorite classes. if you listen to him, you catch a lot of jokes. tests aren't on the textbook, they are all on what he talks about in class. I don't think i've used my textbook once. Curves tests.

Hes a terriable teacher!!!!! It doesnt look like he likes his job one bit! Talks about the most ramdom stuff ever! He gives you no notes or review sheet for tests! Gerlach is a nice enough guy, with a very dry sense of humor. Don't take his class if you are easily offended. He gets off topic often. Also, there arent many grades in his class, so you have to do well on the tests to pass. It's almost straight lecture; you hardly ever use the book.

This Prof is an anecdotal teacher. Trouble forming coherent thoughts. You can however save a bunch of money in this class.... DONT BUY THE TEXTBOOK.... he only tests off of his lecture notes... half the stuff on the exam weren't even mentioned in the text.
