Comment:
Dr. Anthony was the worst professor I have ever had at UK. He was rude, condescending, and called people stupid for not knowing things. His tests were nothing like his lectures and he gave the class no information such as the average on the tests, information that would be on the tests, or really anything that helped. Do not take him.

Comment:
Dr. Anthony's class was great. He made organic more pragmatic and gave real-world examples as opposed to simply saying what a reagent does. He explains everything very well and keeps you engaged in the course even through the hard things. He is very fair with his exams, the material is just difficult. If you are given the opportunity, take him.

Comment:
I was scared to take Dr Anthony's class because of the comments on here. No professor can give you a grade in CHE 232. It's hard. You have to keep up & work hard. Dr Anthony is HILARIOUS & honestly gave the most entertaining & practical lectures I've had in my many years of college courses. MUST practice ahead of lecture. Don't waste time reading.

Comment:
If you don't study for classes then you won't make it to CHE 292, and if you're taking this course be prepared to triple your study habits. I recommend Dr. Anthony because his exams are more on the easy side of Ochem II, not to say they are easy however. Dr. Anthony is very knowledgeable and is willing to help you, if you help yourself first.

Organic 2 was by far the most difficult class I had ever taken. Anthony uses it as a weed out course for the hard sciences. It's doable, and he's very helpful in office hours, but he makes you "think" very hard about any question he asks or subject he brings up.

Anthony was rude and extremely sarcastic. His lectures make you feel prepared...but the exams are very difficult. A very good portion of the class dropped. Do not miss class and make sure to ask questions. He likes to incorporate test questions related to why the text book was incorrect.

Comment:
One of the best Prof I've had, very energetic. He's often sarcastic and can seem like a jerk, but if you do your part he's very helpful. Short yet tough HW load, 4-5 questions ~10 times total. The book is great and he expects you to use it. Exams are fair and he is open about what will be on them. He expects interaction and feedback during lecture.

Comment:
Could possibly be "The Most Interesting Man in the World" from the Dos Equis commercials. Lectures are a bit disorganized. Yes, he's a "jerk", if by jerk you mean very sarcastic- I find it funny. Focus on mechanisms and functional groups. Tests are not that bad if you study and keep up. If you put the work in an A is definitely possible.

The rudest professor I have ever had. He makes you feel stupid if you didn't make a good grade on the exam and talks badly about other professors and students. He is a good teacher though. I think he behaves this way to seem intimidating. Organic isn't easy so I don't think it matters who you take it with, it is gonna stink!

Great prof...he knows his stuff and is pretty clear when explaining things, but stupidity annoys him. 533 with him is highly recommended, although you'll learn to hate TLC.

Made every other organic class i've had make sense. Great lecturer and very helpful in the lab--also, sympathetic and flexible with deadlines. Tolerates questions well and is very approachable. A little biased toward students who actually like chemistry. Really wish i'd taken him for 230 & 232.

He is one of the harder teachers that I have had but I learned the most from him. He is bitter till half the class drops before the first test and then he is a great guy. Take him if you can.

Anthony's not an easy teacher by any means. And I think he's a little disgruntled and grumpy from general student apathy. But he knows his materials and expects you to study hard. In return, his lectures make 100% sense if you come to class prepared. His exams are also very comprehensive of material covered in lectures and reviews.
