His Notes are sometimes unreadable. Sometimes you feel like you write all these notes and learn nothing from them. Besides that, hes a cool professor.

Most accurate syllabus I've ever seen, everything you need to know is there. Quizzes every 2 weeks,Muktiple choice 10 questions. NO mid term, 35 question final. Extremely knowledgeable teach who cares and takes his time IFNEEDED. Lecture heavy and by no mens are they fun BUT it is very hard to fail.**Math is my utmost weakness but i finished with B

BORING BORING BORING class; nothing against Professor Boyd though; he's a pretty cool guy, who clearly enjoys math... A LOT. There is math in this course, it is not strictly reading(like I thought it would be) so attendance is not mandatory but he does go over heavy material in class. The class curve is insane, it raised me a whole letter grade.

Prof Boyd is super smart, but seems like more of a mathematician than an economist. Lectures are pretty dull and can be hard to follow his notes on the board. Didn't really get to cover interesting stuff like international trade and inequality. Grade is based on 6 quizzes and 1 final, and the curve is pretty generous.

I found this class to be extremely boring, but that also comes from the subject being taught, I don't know if you'll ever find a super upbeat economics class. Professor Boyd goes over many examples, and can definitely fill up your notebook with notes. Attendance is not mandatory. Quizzes are worth 70% and the final is 30%. Quizzes every two weeks.

I pretty sure this class is curved by a lot, he creates his own grading scale and tweeks it to fit FIU's requirements. This is a very hard class to fail, even with several bad quiz grades, I passed with a B. No homework, only quizzes and a final. Lectures can be a bit long. This is a very easy extra class to boast your GPA.

I found prof. Boyd's personality to be so funny, he is extremely smart, like next level intelligent, he kind of looks like a younger version of Albert Einstein. Attendance is not mandatory but he does go over pretty difficult material. No hw, no projects. Only 10 ques. Quiz every 2 weeks (70%) & cumulative final (30%).

No homework. 10 question m/c quiz every two weeks. Doesn't care if you show up. Really nice old guy and you can find the textbook online which is needed. He gives notes in class however gets questions from the textbook so rely on the book. He does give an AWESOME scale however and drops the lowest quiz. Impossible to do bad and easy to cheat.

Boyd is a nice guy, but extremely boring and dull. I tried going to his lectures but ended up falling asleep and not learning anything. The good thing is going to class isn't mandatory or needed to pass the class. Plus, he curves a lot! You'd have to be pretty dumb not to get at least a C in the class. The textbook is essential though.

The material is tough. Pay attention to the lectures, he goes at a quick pace so get ready. However, he gives very generous curves and the homework assignments help your grade. Also, if you ever need help, see him during office hours! He is very kind and helpful. Great for one on one explanation. Don't be shy to ask!

A fairly graded and easy class (graded with curves.) If you do the homework assignments and take the notes you should do fine (though the lectures then to get boring so be prepared.)

It was a pretty easy class as long as you do the homework assignments and take notes from the lectures. The lectures I will say feel long so you will need to focus; if you do that then you'll pass.

This class is not too hard if you really paid attention in Principles of Micro, since he basically goes a little deeper into the stuff you covered in Principles. Calculus is not required for the course so understanding of algebra and the concepts will do. The curves are huge so as long as you're more prepared than the rest of the class you'll ace.

Lectures a little dry at times , but he does a good job diagramming and explaining what you need to know. he reviews the concepts that are on the exams. 9 HW's worth %10 of grade. Very nice exam curves also! Not the easiest of classes, but with some work, its not bad. Don't hesitate to see him at his office, he is very approachable and nice.

Not too bad of a course, but he is extremely boring and incomprehensible. I found myself teaching the course to myself. I didn't rely on his notes and actually stopped taking his notes and studied just from the book and did fine. Take some Adderall before his class because it's tough to focus on breakfast alone.

Honestly i didnt think i was going to have such a hard time with the class. The teacher knows his stuff but dam is he boring, i have fallen asleep in his class plenty of times. His test for some reason are quite harder than the book or the stuff covered in class but the curve is HUGE. Overall avid if possible, if not good luck.

i need this class for my major and i chose this professor because i thought i could get over him being boring. i was wrong. it's a struggle to pay attention/stay awake during his lectures and then it's a struggle to actually want to go to his class. the class is easy enough though but it wasn't worth how boring it was.

A little boring, but great professor. Just do the homework, and you have questions don't be afraid of going to his office. He takes his time to explain to you if you need it. Got a B, it wasn't an easy one though.
