Professor Reader is a great professor with a lot of knowledge. So far as I know, he is very well respected by students and among his colleagues. I would highly suggest you take him. He is willing to help you out, always. Be warned though, not an easy A.

Professor Reader is not the ideal professor, he expects you to teach him the material of the class rather than the other way around. He does not lecture and thinks a class is sitting in a circle and talking. He does not favor minority students and he will treat minorities like they are inferior and not worthy of getting an education. I

I love him, he is the only professor i feel comfortable talking to about anything, he is always willing to help and find a solution. his class are a bit hard to fallow but if you go to his office hours he will go over the material. Best professor ever!!!

This class was excruciatingly boring. I found his lectures to be somewhat scatterbrained and very hard to take notes from on many occasions. Reader is a really nice professor though, and seems to realize how boring the class is (it's a requisite for the Soc major). There are 3 exams, all of which are pretty easy (he allows the use of notecards).
