Jose is awesome. Always positive when coming to class. Ive never even seen him in a bad mood. Hes very laid back and makes you feel comfortable asking him questions when youre completely lost about what youre doing

If you need to know how to operate a camera, shoot, and edit a short video, this is the class for you. He might be a little long winded and repetitive. He is the nicest teacher I have met. Super helpful and super knowledgeable.

His lectures will make you want to go out & make your own movie. He is very inspirational & will get you excited about the working world, or at least freelance movie making, which not many students wish to do. Many of his classes feel exactly the same. Same assignments, same materials, and same lectures. Though he is wonderful he is also repetitive

I had the pleasure of getting to know Jose for two courses now. He is concerned about your progress in the course and will help in any way with your projects. Do NOT miss his exam reviews! I LOVE Jose. If you don't like discussing things in class you probably won't want to take him, but if you do he's definitely your guy. His discussions can be really fun and he's very upbeat and happy all the time, it makes for a great classroom environment. Only 4 really easy multiple choice tests and some even easier discussion questions.

I had him for Video 1. He is seriously the best. Quizzes are short answer but if you attend class and pay attention to what he shows you in the control rooms you will ace the pratical at the end of the semester! Midterm is 20 ?'s/20 Pts. He tells you exactly everything that will be on there. Office hours are a PLUS! He does everything for you

I am a Jose Cardenas superfan. Not only have I taken this class with him, but I have also worked on the Building Dreams short film. He is extremely knowlegable, and is very excited to help students. I can't wait to take some video classes with this guy...he's amazing!

The class was interesting, but LONG (8 hour a day 5 day a week film workshop for 3 weeks in the summer.) He made sure we all had several breaks and was kind and understood that a lot of other students had other jobs and/or classes.
