Comment:
I really enjoyed Professor Gygli. She is very passionate about theatre and the content she teaches. She is also very kind and understanding. Every class would be a powerpoint relating to what we read that week. At the end of the semester, we had to put on a short performance based on a play. If you take notes and read the plays, you will do well.

Comment:
Dr. Gygli is a super nice lady. Very approachable and knowledgable. Audience Matters was an okay class. Lots of reading from the extremely boring textbook. Tests are all essay and can be pretty challenging, as we don't discuss a lot of the information in class. It's mostly on material covered in the book. Overall, though, not a bad class.

Comment:
Dr. Gygli made what could have been an interesting class into something totally boring. This is NOT a theatre course yet that was all we ever learned about in class. The tests are lengthy essays on material not covered during class- really broad and just an annoying amount of unnecessary information. Really nice lady but really boring class.

Comment:
Dr. Gygli is a very nice woman but is not clear on papers and requires entirely too much reading for non-theatre majors. I took this class for the link, would not take it again. Readings were interesting and the exams weren't hard but the amount of reading was rediculous.

Audience Matters required a lot of reading from the book and we did not take a lot of notes in class. The tests are all essays and in a blue book. A lot of material but if you do the reading and pay attention you will do good!

Karen is a great professor, though the class was super easy. Show up, participate, pay attention, do the readings, and you should get a good grade. While a few assignments can be a bit confusing, the course is simply too easy to be ruined by something that can be solved with just a few questions. The information is generally interesting too.

She is very nice and easy to contact. She has a very caring personality and wanted to help you as a student. Blue Books are used for the exams and the exams have A LOT of information; you have to take time to study and prepare. She is more on the theatrical side of the COMM department (I am not theatrical at all), but I would take her class again.

Super nice lady, always willing to help. The class isn't too hard if you study. Does expect you to know the book for the test. A few papers required, but there is a ton of time to work on them.

Such a nice and clear professor. For International Film, we had 3 tests, two film response papers, and a few in-class questions to answer. Class attendance is mandatory, otherwise you miss out on vital things to know for the tests. Not too hard, just try a bit. Very understanding and helpful.

Dr. Gylgli started off being an incredibly easy professor and nice. Then midway we started writing papers. She is a tough grader. Apparently she is also feminist. Do not offend her. She will take her anger out on your grades. Not too bad in comparison to other FYS professors but not the greatest. All the work ends up being in the last 3 weeks.

This professor kicks ass! as long as your interested in the material, she really lets you do whatever. The one thing to note: while homework assignments are limited, you better do them. she'll sniff you out.

she was a nice lady but i didn't feel like she really ever taught anything. be prepared to memorize and act out a few scenes. you will never open your book in class and yet your midterm AND final will be based solely on it.
