Comment:
Keith A Brugger. Although his sense of humor is a little ironic for some people, I found him very entertaining in lecture. Although he can be a little distant, he clearly cares deeply about the subject, and was obviously committed to teaching, even though it was only an intro course. Participation is not mandatory, but apprecciated.

Complained so much about Donald Trump for the first week I thought I was taking political science rather than Geology. He's not good at explaining things and never really clear on the math required to find answers on some problems in the lab.

There is no required textbook for the course. There are no prerequisites for the course. There are 2 midterm exams, each worth 25% of your grade. The final exam is worth 30%, and homework assignments throughout the semester total the final 20%. Math heavy, and no partial credit. I do not recommend this course w/o significant background knowledge

Class was difficult, which is expected of an upperlevel class but the professor didn't make it any easier. Clearly didn't enjoy answering questions related to confusing hwk problems and was condescending. Tests are easy of you're confident with your math skills and can thoroughly review material. Lectures could be very confusing at times.

I have never hated a professor so much. He is constantly rude and unless you go to his office hours don't expect help. He makes excuses for getting things wrong or not getting things graded when he said he would. Don't take a class with him unless you have to.

The book was optional, but I wish I had gotten it because I'm interested in the subject. Problem set instructions were sometimes unclear, but the lectures and test questions were usually straight-forward. He can be pretty brusque and doesn't have time for people who don't come to class. No essays.

Pros- His tests are doable if you work extremely hard He has an alright sense of humor Cons- Very condescending and will only say things once Homework is hit or miss as far as helping Brings up his personal life very awkwardly Very disorganized lecture and powerpoints Really tough with his grading

Not sure what all of these other raters are complaining about, but Keith was a great instructor! He's not too helpful when it comes to help outside of class, and it's not convenient that he doesn't make his powerpoints public, but that just means you've gotta take good notes and actually read the material. Not difficult at all if you just study.

He was a terrible teacher. He never helped anyone that had questions. He is hard to follow because his voice and appearance is irritating. I would not recommend him to anybody. He is the sole reason that I dropped the Geology major with only two courses remaining.

Worst prof at Morris. His test are impossible and his gives very disorganized and unclear notes. Unless you are very interested in Geology and willing to learn all the material on your own, do not take Physical Geo with Brugger.

The worst professor at morris. Seriously super unhelpful, super difficult, super cynical, super crabby, and just overall does not want students to succeed. Very hedonistic. Take my word for it - go with COTTER without a doubt.

For an intro course, he made it ridiculously difficult. He didn't seem like he even wanted to teach this class and made the tests impossible to do well on (average test scores for class was roughly 65). Review sheets were incredibly misleading. I would strongly recommend you stay away from this course and this professor.

decent professor but wears extremely tight, ill-fitting clothing that becomes distracting during lecture. awkwardly brings up dating life (or lack thereof) often. fair grader but tough. helpful if you need help on homework.

Keith is a good guy once you get past the intro level classes. Get him to teach something that he is passionate about, and be willing to do the work. Do not slack off, and tell him early when you don't understand. If you don't tell him, he doesn't know.

Very unhelpful one-on-one but is fine in class or during a review session. Don't take the class if you think it will be an easy "A", be ready to do the work.

He's a tough professor and I thought the class was really boring. whenever I'd ask for help and didn't understand something, he wouldn't know how else to explain it. Which, in my opinion a teacher should have more than one way of explaining something.

I was sick once for a test, and emailed him and we set up a time/place to meet to retake it. I showed up ontime at the right place, and ran into him a few minutes later. He wouldn't let me take the test, and I ended up having to drop because it would have ruined my grade. Kind of an ****.
