Comment:
Prof. Harrison doesn't seem to be incredibly respected within this intro class. Many people take it just for the credit and not for their major, so they also don't care. She posts the powerpoints on line so you don't have to pay attention or take notes, but be ware of her weekly pop quizzes, that is how she takes attendance.

She cares a lot about the subject she teaches and is very enthusiastic. However, her powerpoints are covered in text that she reads off of almost the entire class. I found it easiest to take the notes ahead of time (posted on sakai) summarize the material, and just listen in class.

Easy class overall. She teaches directly from her slides that are all available online. I never once felt like I needed the textbook. The lectures are fairly boring and most students ignore the teacher while using their laptops. Attendance is basically required due to many pop quizzes. They are easy but can hurt your grade if you skip.

Although technologically challenged, Dr. Harrison's really cool. You just have to go to class. She gives pop quizzes that total 25% of your grade- pretty much all you have to do is show up to get the points, but you have to go, because you never know when she'll give one. Go to class. and actually do the reading and take notes and you'll be fine

Professor Harrison is extremely knowledgeable. A few students will have problems with her, mainly because their own arguments are not based on research. However, Professor Harrison has been doing research for over 20 years. She is respected and so intelligent. A kind woman who cares for her students. Lots of writing, but it's a writing course.

Good teacher. Very lecture heavy and there are pop quizzes, but the quizzes and tests are easy if you go to class and pay attention to her lectures. Overall a really interesting class and a great teacher! She really cares about her students.

While I like most professors in the CJ department, I don't jump at the chance to take another class with them. I will absolutely take another class with Prof. Harrison. She is intelligent, well-spoken, empathetic, and truly cares about her students. Her experience is extensive and extremely interesting. Would suggest her as a Professor to take.

Dr. Harrison was a nice, likeable person but her lectures were beyond boring considering that it seemed like she had no idea what was on her own powerpoints and she constantly made up her own statistics. Tests were extremely specific and even asked about things she said in certain lectures. I recommend CRJU110, but not Dr. Harrison.

This class was supposed to be easy.... You better memorize the slides verbatim and remember the percentage of crimes happened every year. That specific... goood luck

The lectures are boring because she practically reads off the powerpoint. The only reason you might be at class is to get credit for the quizzes based off the "Fun Friday" class since you never really know when she'll give the class. Although boring, it's an easy A.

Don't take her, she reads the whole power point slides. You can probably pass this class by taking notes from the powerpoints.

Best professor I've ever had and best class I've ever taken. Dr. Harrison is very knowledgeable, helpful and kind hearted. She will make you work but its the kind of work you want to do. Her class really opens our eyes, teaches you a lot and was an unforgettable experience. The work she has done and her class have inspired me and my career path.

Dr. Harrison was one of my favorite professors here at UD. She was very interesting and really knew her stuff. She relied on the textbook a lot but the material wasn't bad. Three exams, two small papers, and presentation is it. She was a very easy grader, but watch out for the exams: they progressively get tricky.

A very likeale person all in all, but as a Professor, take someone else! Hated going to class, hated the exams and the lecture was mostly based on stories. Never knew what to write down. I love Criminal Justice, but could not find interest in this class.

If you need a group C breadth requirement. Pick something else. This one is a time sucker. HAVE to read the text book and even if you do, the exams ask very specific questions, like percentages that you are likely to look over. I got a B, but only because of the group project which is almost a guaranteed A if you do it right. Look for another class

By far one of the worst teachers at the university. avoid her class at all costs. claims that you have to come to class but doesn't give you time to copy the notes. when you ask for more time she tells you to read the textbook. she constantly contradicts what she says and makes up her own statistics and facts. extremely frustrating!

Dr. Harrison is an extremely likable professor, but this class is dumb. I would recommend signing up for her as a professor just not for cj110. She has a lot of cool stories to tell, and is always happy. Other than the fact that you're on your own for this class, its nothing terrible. But i recommend dr harrison for sure

Tests (3) are a little difficult. Attendence is not mandatory. Does not teach at all. Write random tidbits of information on the board that seemingly has no relevence. Would not recommend the teacher, but class is interesting.
