Pretty sure he's a genius. (has published articles) Has been using UNIX for decades. Kind of hard to understand at times - fortunately as mentioned if you follow notes and really learn that stuff you'll do well. Hard to communicate with via email. Grading is fair- can't stress enough: study his notes for exam! BONUS: No Textbook! :D Just his notes.

He reads off of his notes during lectures. If you know the notes well, then you will do well on exams. Assignments can be challenging. Grading is also very fair in that even if you don't get the question right, but show you did a whole-hearted attempt, you will still get some marks for your attempt. In my case, he was a very helpful professor.

Despite the language issue and how it's really hard to understand from time to time. His exams are relatively easy if you do the assignments. This course is intended only for those with interest in LEARNING Unix and not just to pass. You do not need to attend every lecture, but attend EXAM review sessions and ASSIGNMENT review sessions.

Wow, I don't believe it 70% which is much too easy if you know the programming.. I start with no background on UNIX and now expert in it. It easy to score if you ask question.. Those never ask and never do assignment, sure fail. Those do sure high marks

Brilliant man, but can't teach. His lectures consist of the text book, copied onto overhead slides (be prepared to sleep when the lights go out), which he reads in a very quiet voice. There's a also a major language barrier and it's hard to ask questions.
