Comment:
The philosophy department on this campus is already a disturbing mess & Professor Cahoone is no exception. He taught Logicuage fully knowing this wasn't his expertise & it was obvious. You would've thought he was writing another language on the board his notes were so bad & illegible. I have never felt like I've learned so little in a course.

Great Professor to take for an Intro Philosophy course. The readings aren't too necessary just make sure to take good notes in class. He lectures and scribbles on the board for 50 minutes but make sure to write down what he is scribbling because it will be on the exams! Office hours are helpful and he is very nice! Highly recommend!

lectures can drag on but the notes are the best way to study for exams/write your papers. only 2 exams, 2 papers so really do well on those. Exams aren't that hard but can be pretty specific. lots of reading, but his notes do a better job of explaining material so it's not that necessary

This is my first philosophy class at the Cross. He is very animated about the material, and very honest. Although he is old school and scribbles on a chalk board for 50 minutes, he knows what he is talking about. You will leave the class smarter. He is a good man and a great professor.

His lectures are a bit boring, but really essential to understanding the material. He could clearly explain concepts that, when written in the text, were initially unintelligible. He's a tough grader, but wants everyone to succeed.

Great professor. I took him for Political Philosophy, and found his lectures tremendously helpful in understanding the complex course material. He is extremely intelligent and funny. Two papers and two exams, all worth a quarter of your grade. Gives extra points for class participation. As a philosophy major I highly recommend Professor Cahoone.

Prof. Cahoone was amazing! I had very little interest in taking Phil and took it only to fill a requirement but loved going to class. He is incredibly knowledgable and is extremely good at relating his knowledge in class. Take notes! His exams are extremely straightforward. Very accessible and office hours are very helpful. He's hysterical!

Class was interesting. There was a lot of reading that was pretty out there. Very difficult grader on papers, it is hard to know what he is looking for. Not very open to own ideas and conclusions.

Cahoone is the man. He explains the material really well given the complexity of the discipline. Reading is recommended but not essential. He's entertaining and a very fair grader. The man to take for PHIL 101.

Just take really good notes and you'll do fine. No need to read, but really work on the dialogue papers, they're crucial. The tests are easy: fill in the blanks, short answer, and 1 essay. He's the man to take for intro philosophy.
