I highly discourage anyone from taking his Environmental Geology Class. There was NO organization to the class. He had no teaching goals and it was just a hodge podge. Same lectures every day of the week, random 10 page papers, USELESS labs.

This was the easiest and most interesting course I have taken so far. You had a few essays and a group project. The midterm was a take-home test and the final was fairly easy. There is not much reading, and when there is it is very interesting. I recommend this class and professor to anyone who wants to enjoy class.

Larry is an extremely helpful prof who has a genuine interest in his students. He will do whatever he can to help you learn the material and will go above and beyond what is expected. He loves geology and this is obvious as he teaches because he is excited about what he talks about. He can be a difficult grader, but if you study you will be fine.

Get on his good side, he is excellent at writing any type of recommendation for you if you need. His class is very interesting and I learned a lot. You must attend class and study for mid-term and final exam, because they are extremely tough. I would recommend this class.

Everyone is right; it is difficult, but if you do every single one of the questions that are "suggested" from him to do out of the text book (not assigned), it's easy to get a B or higher. He has office hours, and he will bend over backwards to help you understand anything. I highly recommend Larry and the course!

"This is not rocks for jocks." Yeah, he actually said that... This dude loves his rocks and he expects that you take an interest in them as well. He is a pretty nice, funny guy, but he grades like a madman. Very difficult, but fairly interesting.

pretty fun guy to have teaching. makes class period pretty fun to be in when topics get boring. make sure that you figure out EXACTLY what the answers are for the test or else you will get raped becuase he is a very hard grader.
