One thing about DLP is that she obvi totally loves students and teaching. You KNOW that she is rooting for you even if she grades really hard. You can tell she actually likes teenagers and knows how to relate. She makes class fun. She is the kind of teacher you pay so much money to go to school for; she is even having office hours on Friday night

Doctor Pate is definitely one of the best teachers I've ever had. I learned so much in her class and definitely improved as a writer. She wants you to do well. She comes in on days off if we need extra hours. She's just extremely helpful, and it's not an easy class, but it's definitely worth it. Highly recommended.

LP is the hardest English teacher I have ever had. I love going to the class and actually look forward to it. However, I have never had to work harder in a class to see that I am only getting a B. One of the first things she said was, "Getting a C+ in my class means you did really well."

She should be called DLP, since she's earned her Ph.D during the time I took her. She knows what she is teaching; there is a lot of workshopping on your essays. 3 major essays - personal narrative and 2 argumentative essays. She is very helpful when you approach her with your essays. Really pushes you to do your best. Difficult but rewarding.

LP is one of the best professors I've ever had. She is so smart and an excellent writer. She puts in a lot of extra time to make sure her students do well. She spent half an hour with me on a SATURDAY. That is dedication. Definitely take her for 110 if you can. If she teaches another class in the future I'm taking her.

Take Pate for ENG110. She is the most helpful and clear professor I've ever had. She is so dedicated to her students, and devotes so much time to making sure that everyone understands what's expected of them for the portfolios. She always makes class fun and engaging, too. I love her! It definitely is a lot of work but so is every other 110 class. She is very educated yet she is young, relatable, and funny. She truly does care about her students and this shows through her constant emailing, extending office hours, and giving so much feedback. People may complain but it's just because they can't write. Very cool prof. She is super helpful - the amount of feedback she gives is crazy. She cares about students as people and relates well cause she is young. She is REALLY smart.Conferences are really helfpul.Email her or go to office hours for extra help. Interesting, funny, and very pretty. Tells funny stories. Don't call her Mrs. Pate, tho!

She isn't the best. She's easier then other 110 classes. Keep everything. when she says focus on an "audience, message, purpose", don't ignore her. It seems stupid but do it. Interesting reading. it's a lot of work but every 110 class is. participate! she's kind of wacky but laugh at her jokes and she'll start to like you.

Professor Pate's class is fairly easy. You write a 3-4 page essay per week. You have a reading once a week (READ THEM...but they're good). She loves it when you participate so do it! One midterm and one final (keep everything!).
