Dr. Erickson is intelligent and enthusiastic about genetics. Grades only from 4 exams, lab and clicker questions. MULTIPLE STUDENTS EVERY SEMESTER ARE REPEATING THE CLASS, and they know what to expect. Exams are not straight forward, study with a repeat student. The q's he posts for modules are the best prep for exams. Fun class, but VERY DIFFICULT

Comment:

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HIM. He hardly lectures but when he does lecture, it's after a quiz instead of before. The labs you spend hours on do not even count. You get zero credit for them. When I asked him questions he was very rude and never answered the actually questions. You can tell he does not want to be there and does not care.

Comment:

Dr. Erickson is a good teacher. I took Bio 210 which was a flipped course meaning there is a lot of reading and homework. Learn the material outside of class and then use it during class. Any bio majors would certainly enjoy it although the workload is above average.

Comment:

Do not, under any circumstances, take BIO 210 with this man. He makes it evident that he does not feel like teaching, and does not discuss what will be on exams. The exams are literally impossible. Not only is this man a horrible professor, but he is also extremely rude. He makes you feel stupid and doesn't offer advice. Avoid at all costs.

Interesting class, hard exams so make sure to prepare for them! Lab quizzes/assignments were decent, just don't prepare for them last minute. READ read read the textbook when studying for exams.

You can tell he doesn't want to teach. Just kind of chats with the class half the time then skips 20 slides of material and class is over. Tests are fair and you should prepare for them. However, everyone hated the "clickers" so you get to enjoy that aspect of class as well. Nice guy and smart, but you can tell teaching at SU was not his priority.

He is a really good teacher. The stuff you learn about is really interesting and made me look forward to going to class. The tests can be challenging if you are not prepared, but if you understand the questions he assigns in the book AND the lecture material, you should be fine. The labs were really cool too, this is one of my favorite classes

Hard teacher. Wants to see you succeed. Study a LOT and you will be one of the few to earn an A in his class. Very interesting material, class is funny and enjoyable, even early in the morning. Use the answers guide on reserve in the library and utilize everything on webCT and in the book!

He makes genetics more interesting brings his own spin nad humor to genetics. He is helpful outside of class. Labs are great. Tests are hard READ THE BOOK! But he is awesome so it works out :-) GFP ROCKS!

Was really dreading this online class, but it turned out to be an awesome experience. Dr. E. was extremely helpful and so knowledgeable. Tests were pretty simple. Study your notes and read the book and there's NO reason not to get good grades. Really enjoyed.

I could not stand him. Singled me out, made rude comments to me in the hall outside of class, burned me on all my speeches. If your a girl you wont have a problem. This is the only professor at salisbury that I can say I will never take again.

Hey is extremely intelligent and really knows his stuff. Doesnt require much in class. Many online assignments however. Tests require alot of studying because they are difficult. Very nice guy.
