Comment:

She is a gem and her German Culture, Lit, and Film FYS is so interesting. This is a demanding class but if you like either History or Film you're going to love this course. There is a fair amount of writing so be prepared (1 paper a week). It takes time to settle into her teaching style but once you catch onto the pattern you're good to go.

Professor Liedke Konow is the most thoughtful, passionate, and caring professor I have had! She truly loves the German language and is invested in students learning it. She is very available and approachable for extra help. The coursework is manageable and she cares more a students continued interest and education then points and grades.

Comment:

Konow is one of my favorites. She cares way more about her students actually learning the language than the grades and the points. She is extremely clear in explaining grammatical concepts and a very nice person in general. There is a tutor available to help with the class and she is there outside class as well. Hopefully I can take her again.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Konow!! She is the BEST. Fair grader, gives plenty of extensions to those who need them, gives you many opportunities to get a good grade. And you will learn SO much German in just one semester. I can't wait to take more of her classes.

Konow is the best! She's so engaging that even if you don't understand exactly what she's saying you'll get it by her gestures and inflections. She's probably the most understanding professor Ive ever had without actually being a pushover to her students. She really encourages group participation and NEVER makes you feel stupid when making mistakes

best foreign language instructer i've ever had. energetic, funny, made me excited about the class. homework everyday, four culture projects, and 1 hour in language lab a week...but it isn't too bad. TAKE HER IF YOU ARE TAKING GERMAN!!!
