Comment:

Gibbons is an awful professor. After putting hard work into weekly discussions, she will knock off several points without stating why. It is very hard to want to participate when you know that when you try your best, you will still not make a good grade. She sometimes gives you feedback, but other times you have no idea how to better your work.

Comment:

Her outlines and powerpoints are EXTREMELY detailed. No amount of studying committed the stuff I read to memory. Tests are more application based than anything. You don't HAVE TO show up every day, but she does do weekly activities that are worth a few points.

Excellent! She is not easy. Her tests are very detailed. She does give you every extra chance in the world to make up work and catch up and bring your grade up. She answers emails quickly and is a great professor!! If you fail her class, you deserved it b/c she will stand on her head to help you pass!!

Comment:

Lets just say, not a walk in the park by any means. It is in fact a sophomore level course, online (not that she is retired from "traditional" campus teaching), but that does not make the class a breeze. She is amazing, overall...but still expects work to be done! Her essays are graded the hardest, the final NOT open note. SO STUDY, at least that.

Dr. Gibbon's online General Psychology class was very managable. She made sure we had enough outline material to use as notes for tests, audio powerpoints, ungraded pre-tests, indepth ideas for discussions and a detailed example of the paper that was all very helpful.

Boring. She would devote time to personal anecdotes then hold us late (summer class, 2+ hours long anyway) when she felt she had to finish a topic THAT day. Very academic, not open to discussing things that were happening in the field, only things in the textbooks. At least she's retired and I won't end up in her class again.

She is demanding as the course material will require. She is always available to help students and does not offer extra credit to slackers (Hence whiners rating her low at times) she knows her topic and actually expects students to learn. Serious about your courses, this is your proff!!! Take now as she retires soon!!! Love ya Linda...go girl!

I didnt like Gibbions teaching. She doesnt teach very well at all. I really dont agree with her grading, she doesnt grade well. I wouldnt recommend her to anyone.

I didn't really find this class to be hard, but it definitely wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. She let us have open book tests which were actually kind of difficult but I got A's & B's on all of them. You have to write 2 papers which are easy. Her teaching is okay, kind of boring. Overall she is not bad & I had a pleasant experience. :]

Not really hard, boring(could put you to sleep at times), tests were a little hard, lots of group work and days that you don't have to come outside of mandatory attendance. You do write a paper. If you put a your work in, you can pass the class. I left with an A!!

Some people don't like her because she talks A LOT about silly things, but her class is really easy to pass if you study. She even gives handouts of what material will be on tests. Not the most exciting class, but pretty easy.

Okay Ms. Gibbons is a nice woman, but she does very little teaching over the material. Maybe thirty minutes over each chapter if you are lucky. If you want to work on your own, take her class, but if you want detailed explanations, she is not the teacher for you. Study objectives because that is what she tests over!

Gibbons knows that material that she teaches, however, she has never practiced in psychology. She is intolerant of new ideas, especially those of students. I would take her if you want an easy A, but if you are planning on majoring in psychology, the do not take her for you will get a lot of vocab and very little practical usage.

BASICALLY SHE WAS A LITTLE BIT CRAZY ACTING SOMETIMES, BUT THE CLASS ITSELF WAS EASY. WE SPENT MOST OF THE TIME DOING ACTIVITIES ONLINE WHICH SOME PEOPLE MIGHT LIKE AND OTHERS MIGHT HATE. DON'T SAY "CRAP" IN HER CLASS...SHE WILL FREAK OUT ON YOU. jUST BE RESPECTFUL AND DO WHAT SHE SAYS AND EVERYTHING SHOULD GO ALONE SMOOTHLY.
