Enthusiastic. You can just really tell she wants to be teaching the class. Make sure you read and go to the lab times!

Prepare to be put to the brink of a break down. She is extremely difficult. Her expectations are very high. Her grading is very severe. I have never heard someone get better than a B+. She is very helpful and wants you to fully comprehend. It is really hard to do well in her courses. It takes a lot of effort to just pass, so proceed with caution.

While she overall has an acceptable attitude, and is incredibly intelligent, she seems to have little consideration for students. Her grading rubric is vague, she takes a long time to return coursework, and her constant statement for things is "You should know this by now" in relation to not knowing certain protocols. This is a school wide issue.

I took several classes with liz and they were tough. Tests are impossibly difficult... but she designs them so conceptual mastery of the material is a must. Labs were awesome. If you work hard (very hard), you will get the grade you want. Also, she is always willing to help students outside of class.

Not clear directions or assignments; many times we were told material would never be on an exam, it was. Also, she took forever to get back graded work.

Highly intelligent. Teaching style makes no sense. If you take her courses rely on the textbook heavily. Her tests are impossibly hard. Out of my entire class I was the only one who passed and it was by the skin of my teeth. I wish she would re-evaluate her learning style, especially for an into level course the tests were extremely hard.

I just finished a half-semester class with Professor Dolci. It took 6 weeks to get our final papers back. She slammed them all (offered to take rewrites, but gave them back right before final exams). Didn't learn what we were working with, and wasn't much help for questions. She had to get help grading from outside sources. Unimpressed.

Professor Dolci is incredibly smart, genuinely kind and readily available during her office hours. Though I eventually had to drop the class due to absences and poor understanding (I'm awful at math and science)she appreciated my initiative, offering to help in any way she could. She is hard but if you're interested in biology she is a good choice.

Does not wish to teach anymore (and tells her classes this), and class/lab quality suffers extremely due to extended absences (and substitute professors). She could be good again, but doesn't put in the effort to keep her knowledge up to date.

She is very intelligent, but will except no excuses. Very hard to have in a school in which over half of the students commute. I was 13 minutes late delivering my final project after driving in a snowstorm and she wouldn't even take my report. I had a B+ overall but went to a D because she gave me a zero for the project. Bygones, I'm now a DNA

Lecture intensive; reading aligns with class notes; tests combine multiple choice with short and long essay format, and varied questions to probe critical/analytical thinking skills. Microbiology is taught at graduate level, as students design their own experiment during a semester long process of identifying an unknown bacterium, a class that has

She is a wonderful person, and she is incredibly smart, she just doesn't know how to "dumb" things down for people that dont know all the basics, which is what this class is. Unless you are in an upper level science course, do not take this course with Dolci.

I think unless you love bio, take someone else. She teaches you stuff, but she knows so much that its way too fast and too much at once. I have ADD and that didn't help.
