Comment:

This professor skipped through the first 20 chapters of the over 1,000 page textbook he made us purchase/rent for the class for starters. On top of this the professor also will not help with any technical errors if you have an Apple computer during lab. I really enjoy Biology but this semester has really ruined my outlook on this subject.

I took notes every class and did well on all my labs. His tests are so hard, I studied for 5 days for my last exam with him and I did not do well at all. He does not put what he teaches on the exams.

I have never had a professor like him. He is intimidating and a very demanding individual. His exams are darn near impossible with extremely vague questions. I have never gotten less than an A in any science class ever, and I got one of the highest grades at a B.

I have taken numerous classes with Dr. Genter, Including: Intro Eco and Evol, Limnology, Fundamentals of Ecology, and Environmental Tox. He has a system that you read a chapter, answer those questions in class, and then selected questions from each chapter will be on the exam. Simple formula, but he's picky. Very passionate. Tough, but fair.

Bob is truly passionate about biology. Beware! He is tough but fair. He is always happy to help and with a smile. A smile is sometimes hard to find at JSC. Talks about algae a lot, but you have to excuse his passion. Ask questions and stay current on readings and the course should be fine.
