Comment:
Bottom line. Don't take his class. He just doesn't care. His lectures are boring and often rambling and don't pertain to the tests. The textbook is useless. I read all the "required" chapters before each test and still did poorly. I think he likes seeing students fail. The only plus was that his TA was pretty helpful, but still, don't bother.

Met him before I took his class and had a very poor opinion about him. Not a very welcoming person, gives short replies, continuously talks during lectures without asking questions or trying to make it interesting. Leaves it up to the TA to do the exams and grading; pretty hard to do great in his class...did not enjoy this class!

The class is only hard because he forces the grades onto a normal curve. If you are like me and will take a class over if you get lower than a C- you have exactly a 33% chance of having to take it again.

Hey! It's Political Science, not rocket science. He's eccentric! Deal with it! If you stop acting like a wanker and listen to what he's actually talking about, you might "learn" something.

Prof. Hayes was the single worst professor I had in college. He always projected an attitude of indifference and condescension, and sometimes even made vaguely **** remarks during lectures.

He was my worst college professor. Very unorganized lecturer. He has the "tenure, I don't care" attitude. Avoid this guy if possible.

One of the worst teachers I ever had. Just wants you to memorize word definitions for his tests. Didn't have to attend a day of class, wouldn't want to anyway since he is sooo boring.

terrible grading set-up. 10%a 20%b 40%c 20%d 10%f This creates a bad situation for good students, wherein everyone is competing against each other instead of a set standard.
