I love learning the language, but she actively diminishes that motivation by lecturing 60 mph in Spanish when covering (especially new) information. Fluent Spanish speakers in my class have trouble following her dialect. She gets offended when you ask about tests. Websam's worth the money. Without it, I would never finish the incredibly long tests.

I enjoyed her class. I had a hard time understanding her at first because of the accent but after a while I got used to it. I had to learn to participate in this class or else my grade would be affected. I was confused sometimes as to how she graded things. Homework is what you do in class so pay attention.

I really learned a lot from this professor. Class was always interesting, and there was always extra materials for me to use to help get a better understanding of the material. She gives good feedback and advice and is always happy to help out. Highly recommend!

If she likes you, she'll help you. Try to stay on her good side. Participate A LOT. She's not very approachable, especially when questioned about grading. She has a strong personality and an attitude. Overall, the course was pretty easy. I ended up receiving a B.

This was just an intermediate conversation course. I took it because I would have otherwise had a semester without a spanish class. She's great. I also had her for 301 and she was great then too. Just show up and try to participate!

I know it's a beginners class, but I just can't seem to keep up. I feel truly retarded b/c everyone else seems to get what she's saying and I just...DON'T! She uses the quizzes that came with the curriculum (which is good-she doesn't stray from the book). Oh, and keep ur book bc you'll need it again in 112. [i'm having trouble in this class] :-(

Dr.Masanet is very unorganized, she does not keep up with her syllabus, but she is really into the subject. She puts A LOT of emphasis on class participation, it's 30% of your grade. So speak up in class, and read bc her reading quizzes are insanely specific.

great teacher. Loves her classes and loves class participation. Very into teaching the culture, sometimes more so than the grammar, but still a great professor!

Hard to understand, speaks very fast. Does a lot of group work/working in pairs and not a lot of explaining the grammar through structured presentation which is tough b/c then you have no notes, etc. and can "practice" the wrong way. Tests are LONG and hard, I couldn't stand this class. She's a basically good person, but take someone else.

She is really dedicated to what she does and WANTS her students to learn. But the class seems more like a beginners than intermediate class. It's not really challenging and the book is boring, but she still tries to spice it up. Yes to the professor, no to the class.

If you can understand her English, you can understand her Spanish...point blank. SHe's a good teacher overall, and is willing to help (when you can find her). Her tests are hard, and be sure to check when Lab starts, because she wasn't ever clear on when it started. Bueno suerte!

Nearly impossible to understand. Treats people differently based on if she likes them personally, not on how hard they try. Ýou won't do well if you need a lot of supplemental help. Lots of group work you never finish, so you hardly learn anything in class.

She is a little scatter brained and will grade things wrong if you don't check. She is very nice and you will learn a lot of spanish. Make sure to write more than you think you should on compositions and to write as much as you can for essays on tests.
