Comment:

Professor Schwarzer is extremely enthusiastic about the material that she's teaching, which helps. However, she's not always 100% clear about how she's going to grade the work that you submit to her. She can also be a little too objective when critiquing art, providing more of her personal opinion than constructive feedback. Still a very nice lady.

Comment:

Schwarzer rewards a great amount of time and effort put into work. The people that complain about her in the comments below simply didn't put in enough time and thought into their work, and thus were frustrated by the bad grades. Her critiques hit the head on the nail. If you work with her throughout your brainstorming process, you wont be let down

Was the nicest teacher I had. Made a strong effort to help improve your drawing skills. Understands when you have conflicts and often gives extentions on assignments. She even brought the class lunch a few times! Definitely take her if you are taking an arts class

Very sweet, but ultimately a frustrating experience. Class lectures were long, redundant, not helpful. Left class every day feeling that time had been wasted. Has little sense of class time management. She is sweet and friendly, though.

She will give you detailed instructions on how to alter your project. Once you make the changes that she recommended, she will tell you the project is perfect, but wont give you a single grade until you have completed course evaluations. She then gives you (and half the class) C?s on supposedly ?perfect? projects

She puts a lot of effort into showing an intrest in her students, I know she has a family and a lot of work so a few lates can be forgiven. Tries to help evey student and lets you be creatiive with our work. Great proffesor and a really nice lady.

Knew how to draw beforehand, just wanted practice, & know how PROPER instruction is done-She failed. Shes very vain & fake when tryin to be nice, instead coming across as disrespectful-writing this as her senior seminar class is talking about this-plays favorites in very obvious manner, VERY disrespectful to those she does not like in class. beware

tried to teach abstract ideas about "what is art" when all we wanted to do was learn the mechanics of drawing and improve our skills at the craft. Absurdly vague assignments, little guidance and too much work for very little reward.

disorganized, falls behind her own syllabus, unclear on assignments and readings. Tries to be be very friendly and smile at you each time, but really is a fake and takes it very hard if you disagree on art issues. often late for class.

I thought she was a good prof for basic studio. She tries to help you improve in various mediums and doesn't really care when you turn things in, as long as they get done. Overall a good prof... I learned a lot in her class.
