Madhu is unorganized and very unclear about a lot of assignments. She switches due dates and isn't consistent with what her expectations for her students are. Her class wasn't very engaging and I would not take her again.

Madhu is amazing! She's really engaged and is willing to work with the students if they're struggling with the reading. She's a bit scatter-brained when it comes to sticking to the syllabus, but the discussions are always fascinating. She doesn't give a lot of feedback on papers, and there aren't a lot of points in the class, so watch out!

Truth of Fiction was a great class! The discussions were very open, which I liked, but some people might not. She has an accent, but is easy to understand, though sometimes she stutters as if she is having so many thoughts she can't decide what to say. Very passionate and interesting. I would definitely recommend her.

Nice woman, frustrating as a professor. Hard grader, entrenched in theory, and assumes all your ideas are more brilliant than they are. Very unstructured lesson plans and EXTREMELY broad, vague, unclear guidelines for assignments.

Extremely scatterbrained. Small group discussions were useless, but so were lectures. Emailing her produced no responses. Subjective essay grader. Wouldn't explain given grade for essays and didn't offer constructive criticism. Actually, offered no criticism at all. Just grades. Will never take her class again. Didn't learn anything.

Soooo boring! You don't learn anything, she rambles on forever. The whole class is just her asking what you think on this and that. No lesson plan/no direction. She's a nice person but just can't formulate a complete lecture. She doesn't tell you what she wants in papers. Harder grader.

I had Madhu for symposium and it wasn't too exciting. Some of the books she chose were interesting and debates could be fun but when she actually taught us she appeared very scatter-brained and unorganized. Expects a lot of work for papers and reading length. Perhaps she was just too used to teaching upper division English?

Madhu is a great lady. Gives good criticism, expects a lot from her students, warm and welcoming. A little hard to get a hold of (she's very busy) and a bit scatterbrained, but a great prof and person. My symposium was very close with her--we had an awesome time!

I love Madhu! She's both brilliant and entertaining. Her penchant for skipping segues is charming and her passion for her subject is undeniable. She made the material accessible and took time to address student concerns in class. Really, a great professor.

She was a little scatter-brained but overall a good prof. Her classes were sometimes boring and some things hard to understand but she is always very willing and ready to help if you see her during office hours. She is also an easy grader and the material she chose for class was also really helpful for what she was teaching.

So disorganized! Always changing deadlines and assigning too much work for the class. Too much reading and too many essays. Often assigns more than one essay at a time. Symposium is not supposed to be this stressful!!!

Madhu is so disorganized! Her class consisted of her lecturing about the 20 books we had to buy. This was supposed to be a post colonial class, but she somehow always talked about India. The class was bored out of their minds. ALSO, SHE ALWAYS ALWAYS CAME LATE AND THEN KEPT US LATE...ALWAYS!!!!!

Ick! I hated this class. She's one of those people who is too smart to explain things to the rest of us. The theories never really made sense. She's also completely scatterbrained. I would just start understanding one thing she was explaining and then she'd jump to something else.

This may just be a literary theory thing, but she seems a little scattered and didn't explain things very well. She's brilliant, though, and very passionate about some topics. I think she'd be great for feminist or Oriental literature - but lit theory was a frustrating class.

She is the most unorganized prof I have ever had. She really knows her stuff and is really passionate about it. if you want an easy grade, take her, altho you will learn Nothing and might spend a lot of time with frusteration due no class structure.
