She's so unclear about what she wants in an assignment, she's snappy, and she constantly makes everyone read out loud every class. The only positive thing is that the class goes by fast since you spend 50% of it reading out loud.

Comment:

Dr Umeh is an awesome professor. She explains everything in a clear and concise manner. All of the writings pertain to modern day problems of the world. Dr. Umeh teaches you not only how to write, but also to think. Even if your opinion varies from hers, she encourages free thought. I wish all professors were as good as professor as Dr Umeh.

No matter what effort you put your grade depends on the final. Even if one on one she rambles on about things you didn't ask about and will discuss your grade and/or progress in front of the class. Her snap judgement is way off but you are that suffers for it. Required textbook is, you guessed it, her book.

Essays every class, which tend to be easy. You'll have to read out loud and stand infront of the class, every time which can be very frustrating. She snaps a lot and at times can be highly disrespectful. Do I recomend ? If you want a easy grade yes. If you don't have patience, it's a no. Handful.

I actually took eng 101 in bmcc. If you want an easy A I suggest going with this professor. Prepare to read outloud in class every class, 2 page essays tops every week. But over all I enjoyed this class. Although she may be a lil snappy at times she cares for her students and is always open for office hours.

Excellent professor! Very knowledgeable and talented. Dr. Umeh is a very fair and helpful professor who will try her best to help a student become better, not only in English composition, but in life. Would highly recommend to take her class, and definitely be prepared to put in "10,000 hours" to become a master!

You will not be reminded of your assignments. If you are forgetful just always check the syllabus. She is mindful, just email her and she will accommodate to your needs. She can be a little harsh on grading but allows rewrites, essentially this allows you to better your writing skill. She is very understanding and fair.

Dr. Umeh is an excellent professor I just took her this summer and her teaching style is great she knows how to teach this class very well and she is a fair grader overall 100% recommended her quizzes are take home for crying out loud I don't know why this student are complaining about her no midterm & final is a paper

I have never had a professor that was worse than professor Umeh. Her instructions make no sense, and if you try to ask her to clarify, it would be less frustrating if you were to ask the wall. I usually do not feel strongly enough to grade my professors, but i feel obliged to warn people about her.

Do not take this her!!! She does not know how to teach. Very rude and does not respect students. Its a waste of a time trying to explain anything to her. She claimed our whole class of plagiarism, which was caused by her instructions and refuse to admit to her mistakes. Avoid at all cost.

this lady is just impossible to bare with, she gives us an assignment in turnitin.com as a group project and she tells everybody to turn in there work individually,she has the audacity to say the work is plagiarized. when she clearly stated turn in the same paper more then once.

I like Prof Umeh, she is not as difficult as she appear to be. She expect you to write a lot. "hey is a English class" If you do the work, About 6 take home quizzes, do the final 12-15 final group paper, Take home midterm. You almost guarantee the A. I saw must of my class get A's and B's. She is really hardcore when it comes to her opinion.
