Dreaded going to class every day and hated every second of it. Goldberg isn't a bad person, just a bad teacher. Lectures were all over the place and not well prepared. I've taken IW courses still nothing close to what she assigned. Class average for papers was a 60. Anything less then what she pictures in her mind she gives a failing grade.

I've had some horrible professors in my day, but she is the worst. Her concept of a Writing Intensive course is way off, as well as her grading scale in regards to papers. Her homework assignments are tedious and pointless. Honestly, you need sheer dumb luck to excel in this course.

Expects a lot of writing and for you to have an opinion, though some of her questions are confusing. There is a lot of work, but she lets you rewrite the major papers and all the test (save the final) and she marks what's wrong. She is very helpful if you meet with her.

Dr. Goldberg really cares about student's succeeding in her course. She expects alot of her students, and you work for the grades, but she is FAIR and accessible! And guaranteed...you'll never forget what she teaches you about ancient civilizations!

This is the worst professor that I have ever had for any subject that i have ever taken. Ever. She is vague about every single thing that she made us do in class, which I may note, was more work then the five other classes that i was taking, combined. I was extremely intersed in the subject before taking the course, but, she has made me hate Athens

Wonderfull class. You must be ready to work however. Do not through aside her homework assignments. They will help you on the quizzes which in turn help you on the exams. Make sure to study only homework and quizzes for exams. You have to be able to think in this class. Do not think you can just come in read a book and pass. It does not work like that in ARCH classes. Since this is a 200 level she gives a great deal of extra help and support. Her 300 levels however are much more independet.

just pay attention in class and take notes. you can find the slides online or in the books, just review them before tests. she's a lenient grader and is always willing to help you if you need it. she is rather unclear at times when it comes to paper requirements.

Paper/project are insane. Don't expect a clear guideline of what she expects. Most insane level 200 class I've ever taken. Subject matter is interesting, but be ready to memorize the same details over and over again. As long as you study for the exams (even if you don't read the text... look at the pics)you should do ok.

her lectures are easy enough to follow and test and homework aren't to bad, but her papers unbelievable. not for content, but for how the assignments are presented. they are so unorganized your not sure what she asking for until after you get the paper back and if you ask questions you get the same cryptic responses.

Most unclear prof ever, all group work and paper partners, no attend req but gets upset if you miss class. No test, but lots of papers, a real pain, tough grader, can't figure out what is desired, seems to grade on voice and not quality. Learned little about topic. Never again.
