Comment:
"Me me me, I I I I..." Very self absorbed and concerned. Relating past experience in a lecture is one thing but when it is exclusively how awesome he is at everything it becomes a drag. If you skip it bruises his ego and is not above asking where you were at 8 am, or telling your private instructor that you missed. Huge bummer of a teacher.

Mark does play favorites a little, but this is not a problem if you come to lessons prepared. He does get distracted but I think the biggest thing is he teaches self reliance. You may never be in wind ensemble and you may not be one of his favorites but he does want to see you improve and will show you good practice techniques.

Mr.Cox is the MOST self centered "professor" I have ever met.He sucks at playing the tuba, and don't get me started on the euphonium! He is terrible at the tuba and "teaches" at a college that is just as bad.

When I was in the Rochester Phil..... Every class had to begin with those words???!!! I absolutely hated brass tech. I'm shocked that people enjoyed his classes.

I think he should shave off the beard so he looks like the undergrad photo thats floating around. Likes to expose kids to lots of modern music, very encouraging. Don't forget, he also went to Northwestern too. The backward clock in his office is funny too

Definitely knows his stuff, is really with it. I mean geez he went to Eastman. He can take a really crappy player and really teach them how to improve and how to play.

Mark Cox of Eastman is the best professor of Tuba and Euphonium at this University! Actually he's the only one. Like I said he went to Eastman. Check him out on the Live in Osaka recording. Great guy, easy to get a long with, good sense of humor!
