Overall she is not bad. She can be a bit abrasive, and sometimes will refuse to help you if you already learned something but can't remember what it means. The quizzes and tests are easy as long as you pay attention and do the homework. If you want to take Italian try to get into another professor's class, but if you can't she isn't so terrible.

Attendance is not mandatory but you will lose points if you don't show up. Books are required as you will do group work every day. She's grades decent. My advice is to show her you're trying. I missed a good third of the classes and she gave me a B. Just don't get on her bad side.

She's a little crazy, but for the most part she'll cut you slack if you appear to be trying. She doesn't grade fairly and she hands out quizzes in grade order. Basically, she plays favorites. Either get on her good side or drop.

She is very strict and likes things the way she likes them but the class itself isn't that bad. Quizzes/ tests aren't too hard, and as long as you show you're trying and can correct yourself she will like it.

Mean person. BUT she's willing to cut slack IF you show her that you are trying! Participate whenever you can and she'll be less likely to bite your head off when you ask a question. Studystudystudy, it's a really hard class - especially for a 100-level. At times she's nice and really helpful, but it really just depends on her.

She is AWFUL. People who took her before had a different teacher. I went to every class nervous. If you tried saying something and it was wrong she would humiliate you in front of everyone. Half the class dropped because they were failing. Grades are from left field and never make sense. She could care less how hard you try.

She is the meanest teacher I have ever had. I scared to go to class and she makes you feel terrible every day. She passes the tests/quizzes out in order of grade, so everyone knows who got the worst grades. She would be a half decent teacher if she'd stop biting people's heads off for dumb things and focused on actually teaching the class Italian.

all things being said, if you know your****, you will get an A+. go to class, participate, do the homework and put in a decent amount of studying for the exams and the final and you will learn a LOT! dont be afraid of her! she really just wants us to learn the language. compared to other 101 students, i feel a lot more prepared for 102 and beyond.

She is easily the meanest teacher I've ever had. You will go to class worried that she is going to bite your head off every single day. With that said, she grades pretty fairly and you seem to learn the language decently. She expects you to "have learned everything we went over by the next class." Not an enjoyable class.

shes not too difficult if you keep up with what you're learning, but you MUST go to every class. she grades very heavily on the final on whether you have participated and shown up to class all year. I probably shouldve gotten a B in the class but i came to every class and got an A. but if your not prepared shell yell at you until you cry

Although the class was easy, she is by far the meanest teacher I have ever had. Don't ever make a mistake, even if it's 101 and it may be your first time with a foreign language ever, because she will make you feel horrible about yourself.

She scares me. My voice would shake when I had to read out loud in class because I was so scared of her. She is impatient when it comes to EVERYTHING so Don't even try giving her excuses. She won't care. She makes you learn but goes about it in a horrible horrible way. Students should not be afraid of their professors. Maybe in 1920 but not in 2008

Most have love/hate relationship with her...she tells you EXACTLY what is going to be on the exam. Just GO to class 100% prepared and she will love you...and you will get an A++. She is insane though...but at the end of the day, you will learn a TON! She really prepares you for 102 and beyond. Recommended for those with tough skin!

If you want to learn Italian, this woman will help you do that. She's very serious and passionate about students learning the language... so she can get really, REALLY flustered. And can be a bit too critical. Not gonna lie, she can be really scary. But the truth is, she's straightforward and will help you learn the language.

Prof. Daniel is very straightforward in terms of homework and tests--if you don't do very well on tests, but improve on the final, she bumps up your grade. She sometimes gets hostile and takes things too personally. Not a difficult class; just go to class and TRY. She loves pointing out mistakes and sometimes not in a very nice way.

She's really not that bad--she's not the nicest or most understanding person if you ask questions, but just be nice and show her you are trying...she is super straight forward about homework and tests--this class is EASY!

Took her for 101 and 102.Great teacher,a bit misunderstood. She's kindof like the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld, she's tough on the outside, but if you try hard in class, put effort into the homework, and attend all classes, she'll like you.she really well rounds you in italian culture for those that will study in Rome. She's tough but you'll learn a lot!
