He was an amazing professor. He is very intelligent and would highly recommend taking him for Hebrew. It is a hard language to learn but he makes it a little easier.

I took him my freshman year and don't recall him being a mega tough grader or assigning a lot of homework besides reading (which isn't hard). There are papers you need to put effort in and ask him for clarification on assignments beforehand. You can study for the test but half the material you didn't learn. Very average class, he's very nice

He was very unclear on the guidelines for the coursework. On one paper, his comments made it very clear that he had not even read my paper. He is very knowledgeable about the subject he teaches. However, he teaches the class way above an introductory religion class. Avoid him if you can.

This class requires a looootttttttt of reading. And even if you read everything you're assigned to read, you are still not guaranteed to do well on the test. Tests are very tough and requires a lot of analysis of the text not just knowledge of what happened.

The assignments were pretty harshly graded, especially the rubrics were overall unclear. All in all I felt that I learned little valuable information and received a low grade for a course that most students in other courses told me would be a fun, laid-back, and interesting Gen Ed. I'm a science major, and this was my lowest grade. Don't take it!!!

Dr. Mcentire is incredibly intimidating initially. His Hebrew class is fast paced and doesn't slow down for anyone, but he has no problem clarifying after class if you ask him. It's very rigorous and difficult stuff, BUT he is a very. generous grader in my experience. He goes on tangents that only a theology nerd could enjoy. One of my fav profs.

Terrible teacher. Too tough. Find someone. Doesn't post grades or tell you what you have in the class. Doesn't help prepare for tests at all. The essays assigned were also extremely ambiguous and difficult but he grades as if the rubric was extremely specific, when it wasn't. Find a different teacher for your own good.

I took this professor for Elementary Hebrew! He really knows his stuff. I mean, you're going to be learning a dead unspoken language, so it's going to be tough, but he's very helpful and wants you to learn! Can be a little confusing at times though and dodges questions.

I absolutely love Dr. McEntire. I've had him for Hebrew this past semester, and he is a great guy. He's no comedian, but that isn't his job. He's a good guy and insanely intelligent. If you keep up with readings and vocab, you'll do fine. Hebrew is not easy by any means, but he is a great professor.

I had him for Old Testament, and I learned a lot from him. Make sure you pay attention in class. Write down what he says, and he is really helpful if you see him outside of class. He can be a picky grader, and you have to work to get a good grade. Overall, I learned a lot from him, and he knows the Bible better than anyone.

Okay, people on here are being SO dramatic. Personally, I enjoyed Dr. McEntire's class a lot. He is one of the smartest people I've ever met. His lectures are well-organized, if you pay attention and take notes during class you'll be fine. He wants to see his students succeed. His class is worth every penny.

Not going to lie--this class was difficult. However, if you work hard you can come out with a good grade. McEntire likes people who show an interest in learning the material, so if you're willing to put in the effort you'll be okay.

Only 2 tests during the semester and a cumulative final. Lectures are incredibly boring and scattered. If you don't have the OT memorized prior to this class, you'll be lost

I'd recommend him. He's EXTREMELY smart & wrote the textbook. Just write your essays specifically tailored for him and you'll get a decent grade. It can be boring, but you break off in groups & talk about art. Personally, I don't really read & I'm getting a B+. He'll do his best to help you understand during & after class

Don't take his class. You will have around 75 pages of reading a night. Tests come from minute details in the readings, not from his lectures. His lectures are one-sided (he proposes a lot of controversial topics, which you don't have the chance to refute) and boring. Questions are never answered and you must agree with his opinion to get an A.

I had him for old testament linked cohort. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!! He is awful and his tests cover NOTHING that we go over in class. Plus, you only have two tests and a final, all of which are nearly impossible. I thought people were being dramatic but they're not. I'm a BIO major and I struggled big time. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!!
