Comment:

Easy A if you do all the work. Took her class over the summer and it was manageable, mostly discussion boards and written submissions going off the online textbook. She assigned one major essay which she graded pretty graciously as long as you put effort into it, the paper itself wasn't too difficult.

Easy! If you do all the work you will pass with an A. She gives you the opportunity to have her look over your work before even turning it in & you can turn it in multiple times until its perfect if you want. My last English class was over 9yrs ago if that says anything about how well you will do jumping into ENG1A. Brush up on MLA though though!

I enjoy english over almost any other subject, but even I have trouble understanding writing styles sometimes. This class really helped me develop into a stronger writer and I am so grateful for that. She is a toughy, but if you really apply yourself, you will emerge a beautiful, knowledgable butterfly.

I'm pretty sure everyone on here that wrote a bad comment, just was unable to to understand her lectures. Libra is amazing, she is very sweet I was failing her class because I missed several classes due to work, she was very understanding and I ended up passing the class with a C! she helped me out alot, was very supportive and just awonderful

Comment:

Professor Howard is an inspirational teacher. However, she made the class more difficult than it really was. The argumentative paper requirements were horrible and made the research for the paper extremely frustrating. Assignments were due Wednesday and Friday. Only take this class if your other classes do not require written papers.

She definitely does give assignments almost everyday, but those assignment are not hard and are usually opinion based, should not take longer than 10 minutes to do them. There are a few essays but she is more than happy to work with you. She is by no means a hard grader, the work you put in is what you will get out of that class.

Professor Howard is awesome. If you want to learn, take her class. If you think this is an easy A class, then move on. This is college level English so of course you are going to work for the grade while learning a lot. No surprises. Very specific grading criteria. However, you have chances to improve papers by submitting early for review.

Most people have given her a bad rating but those people more than likely are lazy, and don't care about learning, or class. As long as you do your work and participate you will receive a good grade. I took her for both 51A and 1A and I received a C in 51A because of my own ignorance but an A in 1A after hard work. Assignments are not hard either.

This lady is the kind of teacher that make you hate class. I hated English and she made it worse. However, I did take other English classes at West Hills and had some AMAZING Professors. Stay away! Ask around there are better teachers out there. She treats everyone like they are fresh out of high school.

If you don't follow this instructor's essay requirements exactly as it is written, she won't accept your work . The page requirement for a research paper was eight pages, and I left two blank lines at the bottom of the eighth page, so she gave me a zero. Needless to say, my 89% dropped to a 62% after her trivial rejection. So just, ZONT ZO IT!

Prof. Howard is an excellent teacher to help improve your essay and research skills. Her essay procedures are labor intensive, but she always will provide feedback on drafts as well as one-on-one support. She is a fast grader, albeit a tough one.

I've taken Libra two times and both times I passed with flying colors and felt like I've walked out at the end of the semester knowing more. Which means she did her job. She was a great teacher to explain writing processes and is definitely good at helping students understand. Overall she's one of my favorite professors.

She is a wonderful instructor! If you talk to her and keep her updated, ask her advise, and use what she offers, you should pass her class with an A but don't think you can procrastinate or slack off. She's strict but very fair. I've found that she has no patience for slackers. Overall, a wonderful instructor.

Comment:

Mrs. Howard is one of those teachers that makes everything a "life lesson." There were many seemingly pointless and unclear assignments. I once had technical issues and asked her to please grade an essay late. Instead of just saying no, approximately eight emails were exchanged. She wanted me to "learn a life lesson."

I took her for 51 B in a hybrid course. She makes her assignments clear and easy to understand. If you meet the requirements to her Essays you will be okay. She gives great feedback and will help you open your mind to your creativity as a writer. I took ENG 1A Online and it was eaier for me. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE ON THE ARGUMENTATIVE ESSAY!
