This professor is really sweet and cares about her students passing. I took this as a summer course for a month. Class is spent going over slides and practice problems but can still be very confusing. Study a lot & read the textbook. 2 tests and 1 final. Homeworks over each chapter & prechapter assessments.

I love Professor Sykes! She was so kind and helpful. There are 2 tests, a final, two projects, and a lot of HWPre-Chapters. This might seem like a lot of work but they don't take very long at all and also they're really helpful as test preparation. Her lectures were usually pretty long but she just wants you to understand. She'll make time for you

Very nice lady. You have to read before class to understand anything. Thought I was getting a B but ended up with an A bc of the curve. Come to class and do the clickers, study for your exams and you will make an A.

Great instructor. Definitely cares about her students. She's currently the only one teaching Oil & Gas. Gives 3 tests only including the final. Test are normally 3-4 chapters. Mostly JE and a few problems. Book is a must to pass the class. I would recommend her if you need Oil&Gas for the CPA or as an elective class

Although her teaching style is not as organized as I am used to, she is a very sweet lady and will be there to help you out. Accounting, to me, is a class where you have to teach yourself in order to really understand the information. Put in the effort and you will see progress. I found this class to be much easier when I did the homework's myself.

Lectures are long, boring, and downright confusing. The way she jumps from the powerpoints to doing examples to clicker questions is so annoying. Make sure to do the homeworks and pre-reading, easiest points for the class. Takes attendance via clicker quizzes. Tests are pretty hard.

Understands the material very well, and is willing to help. Homework is straight-forward, (3 tries to get right with additional help). Tests are the same with every department. Very sweet lady; I would definitely take her again!

Gives really good examples in class. Really knows what she is talking about. If you have any questions she will help you with them. The test are going to be the same for any teacher you pick but her quizzes are really helpful. This class has online HW (three tries to get right) and Pre-chapter reads you keep answering questions until you get 100.

Take her! She is the sweetest and is very helpful! I would say practice the quick check quizzes at the end of each chapter and do the homework to prepare yourself for exams! It really helped me! Your grade is based on three exams, 6/8 quizzes two lowest scores are dropped, cash flow and internet projects which are fairly easily and homework on lab.

Accounting isnt my thing but Prof Sykes made it very approachable and understandable. Exams are question based so you have to understand more about concepts and processes and "how-to-do-this" situations. Attendance is mandatory or else you will get lost immediately. She is also always available for help if you need it. I would recommend her.

She is wonderful! I love how passionate she is about accounting! Since I hate math/accounting it really helped to have a professor that loves it. Accounting isn't easy, but Sykes is the best professor to get you through it. TAKE HER! Like, seriously.

Great teacher in my opinion! 3 tests, the first one is the easiest. My suggestion would be to ace the first two and then you won't to study as much for the final. Test reviews are the best !!! Easy Class and A if you will pay attention and do the requirements.

Professor Sykes is an amazing professor! Her class is pretty straight forward, go in, pay attention, READ the book and you'll do fine. her test aren't that bad, they're just the right amount of hard. Study, study, study! She gives super easy quizzes, homework, and 3 tests! It will take some effort to get an A, but overall, it's not a hard class.

Professor Sykes is a great professor. I took her for the summer so it might differ from a regular session review. She has 3 tests including the final and the final is not cumulative. 9 quizzes and gives HW for each of 10 chapters. Read the chapter before class, do HW before quizzes, and go to her reviews and an A is certain.

Professor Sykes sometimes teaches well and sometimes she does not I listened in class for the first 2 tests and for the 3rd test I barely studied. I got an A in the class. Do good on the first 2 tests so that you do not have to study hard for the final. Quizzes are easy as well as the tests. PRACTICE after every class and go over the book!!!

Go to class or you will fall behind. She doesn't really explain anything well. The final exam was extremely hard, because I had not seen some of the materials on the test, and since she does not write any of the tests, the wording and format is different than her quizzes.

Professor Sykes is not helpful at all. She reads entirely from the power point and can't explain beyond what you find in your book. But she takes attendance. Surely you can read slides yourself. She helps the ones she likes. Yes, she has favorites.
