He doesn't explain on what your essays need to be about, and rarely lets you talk about your opinion on something. He looks for more of a conversation. You don't need the textbook because he'll just read it to you. I wouldn't recommend him as a teacher unless you like going off topic.

Professor is very helpful! Keeps class interesting, discussions are good able to express your thoughts without being penalized normally not relating to class topics. I would definitively recommend this professor especially if you need an A. 6-7 papers total. Even if your not that good in English you can always ask for more detail on the side

If you like structure & clarity then this is not the professor for you. Don't buy the book. His instructions are NOT clear. He goes on so many irrelevant tangents between points that the guidelines are nearly useless. No specific due dates (can be good or bad). Encourages disruptive students. Misogynistic. Treats class like a conversation at a bar.

Took his 3 hour class, so boring. People fell asleep, sat on their phones or just left. He just talks about whatever he wants and then talks briefly about the paper. I don't even think he really grades the papers, I got all A's on mine and I wrote mine very last minute. Don't bother buying the book either. He'll read you stories from it.

He is a very vulgar person and I would not recommend taking him. All he talks about is inappropriate references in magazines. If you are a baptist or any other denomination, beware! He will attack them in a satanical glee. Avoid this guy at all costs!

Easiest A ever, but wouldn't recommend if you are trying to get anything out of it. About 10 - 3 page assignments, all of which can be turned in on the last day of class. Not a bad guy, but be prepared to listen to hours of unrelated rambling about politics, the arrogance of British people, and movies. Did not once use any of the required books

Easiest class I've ever taken. I did not use the textbook once. If you are genuinely interested in learning to write well I would suggest a different instructor, though.

Sypniewski kept the class laughing. It was an easy A. Three pages minimum for every paper. He likes dialogue in writing. As long as he knows your name from coming to class most of the time, you do not have to worry about getting anything lower than a 4.0. I plan on taking him for Eng 102.

Professor Sypniewski has a lot of knowledge, he is hilarious, and he is very forgiving with his grades. I can't say that I learned a lot about how to write a research paper, but if you want to have a great time and a pretty easy A, then Sypniewski is your guy.

super easy. youll get 100% on every paper as long as you do it. but he goes on rants about his ex's all the time and hardly ever actually teaches you anything. he does not reply to emails either. if you want to learn, do not take him. if you want an easy A he's for you.

Professor Sypniewski is great! There is no reason anyone shouldn't pass Eng101. He is hilarious and has very interesting world views. I am taking him for Eng102. He also gives you ample time to turn in all assignments, and he doesn't mark down for lateness. Just communicate with him!

The class Mr. S teaches is good. I had the 7 week course and as long as you did the assignments and reached the expected number of pages, it seems you got full points. When analyzing the example essays, he can draw it out for a hour or two with a 3 page essay. with some assignments, you need to stay after and ask him to elaborate better.

Professor S is awesome. Is very into group discussions and wants you to think about things critically and use them in you paper. Cuts students a break if you participate and do the necessary work. Willing to take time to explain things for you if your not getting it right away.

Took the class in the spring no problem finishing assignments. If you have any questions for him you should ask them, he was very helpful and instructive mostly group work.

This is a subject you must have some experience in, in order to cumprehend the method to his maddness. Let's face it; if you never learned how to write a research paper or analyze writing content, you won't appreciate his style. Writing is an elementary and secondary education level skill. By college, we should be able to think more critically.
