This might be my favorite professor I've had. Truly amazing and obviously cares deeply for the subject material. HIs discussion questions are vague sometimes, but that just leaves room for interpretation. Never talks down to anyone and actually cares about his students. Thought his grading wasn't that hard.

I took 3 of Dr. William's classes in the same semester. I liked HUM 596 the most, enjoyed HUM 322, and thought HUM 304 was okay. Overall, William's is interesting and passionate. During one class he took the class to the St James neighborhood and told us about the history behind it. Tough grader at times, but a great guy!

This is my 2nd class with Dr. Williams, and I enjoyed it as much as the 1st. He is just so engaging and passionate; he selects works and films that relate to the topic and are extremely enjoyable. He cares for his students and wants them to do well. He is likely the best professor in this department by a long shot. Definitely worth taking!

Dr. Williams was incredible! This was his 1st semester teaching this class, and I hope he continues teaching it in the future. His lectures are amazing, and he truly wants his students to succeed. His assignments are varied and helped me grow as a writer and a speaker. He is a professor that you should most certainly take if given the chance!

I've taken 3 semesters with Williams! Not only does he always have fun interesting content but he is also funny. He puts the learning above the grades. Expect lots of class discussion but only 1-2 page papers usually 5-6 through the semester and that's it . I would highly recommend, my easy A is just because I really learn from him!

His questions were rather unclear, which made participation a challenge. I do not feel I learned much from the class at all, at least not anything of significant value. However, you may want to take my opinion with a grain of salt, as I am inclined toward math and science and have little patience for anything that is less than strictly empirical.

Extremely passionate teacher (& it's contagious) !! Likely, one of my favorites ever, he's very interesting! Nonetheless challenging, but if you come to class every day you'll do great (mandatory attendance anyway). 3 Exams; 13 ID imagestextvideo, 23 'take-home essays' you have a week to work on entirety of grade.

Professor Williams clearly loves what he does. His energy level is pretty awesome, but it's easy to not follow his lectures. Pay attention, study slides, write essays, write responses, and show up!

This was my first upper level humanities class, and I thought it was somewhat challenging. There is a lot of reading, but if you keep up with it, it isn't too bad. The papers ask for you to do a lot of analyzing and not so much summarizing. The tests are easy if you are prepared, but be prepared over everything.

This was an honors seminar, and Dr. Williams was clearly very interested in the subject. He loved to talk about the topic, almost so much that he didn't listen to others opinions. He isn't clear about what he wants from you as far as the papers go (there are only 3). However, he does let you re-write them. He's not very welcoming to his office.

Best Professor I have ever had. I am telling anyone and everyone to take his classes. He is exceptionally kind and helpful and engages his students as peers. His course material is always fun and interesting. I would take one of his classes every semester if I were able. By far the best Professor you will ever have.

This class is amazing. I know people who are writing their final papers on video games and pop songs. Williams is a fun and engaging professor who obviously cares about what he's doing and wants you to care too. This class makes me so happy I left the English department for the Humanities department.

Have him for 2 classes this semester. PROS: really nice guy, very understanding, cares about students, passionate & knowledgeable, fun. CONS: Requires lots of reading. Paces like a lunatic panther, so heavily & so much so that it makes you feel REALLY nervous if you're sitting by his pacing aisle. This is way more distracting than you might think.
