Dr. Phil is super helpful and lectures aren't hard to follow. He is very efficient and always is willing to go over concepts that weren't understood the first time. Only downside is that he never lets class out early. Super cool prof, would take him again.

Phil is very excited about statistics. He is very good at communicating the objectives. Lectures get boring at times, but he has humor to bring students' attention back. Unless you love math this class will be a drag sometimes, but it is a good class to take to get rid of the math requirement.

Clear. Easy to talk to, and helpful after class. Also will contact you back (via email) pretty fast if you have questions. This class was not hard. As long as you read exams carefully, there is no reason not to pass his class. Use the math skills center on all assignments and be sure to get 100% on it because it will boost your grade.

I struggle at math and only needed to take a math class for generals. I asked friends their advice and everyone told me to take Phil. How right they were! Dr. Phil is SO great and makes learning easy. I went in for help about 2-3 times per week and he was always so friendly and helpful...even coming in after his normal office hours ended to help me

One of the best math professors I have ever had. The man tells a great story and gives compelling lectures. Understands the material extremely well, but starts from the beginning with students. I enjoyed his class very much. Highly recommended.

Dr. Phil is a great teacher! He loves to incorperate stories into his lessons which is a great break especially in a class like Linear. He can be slightly confusing at first, but after a couple sections and more examples it will all click! His tests are pretty easy. If you go to him outside of class you will know what he is expecting on exams.

If you're a non-major DO NOT take him for Math Exploration.He rambles on and on.Jumpis from topic to topic,without ever fully covering it,& then tests you on it.He doesn't go by the book,so you're just lost w/the hw.He should realize he's teaching non-math majors in Math 114,who are just taking it for the math credit-Take stats,I wish I had.

Phil is a great professor! He is a great lecturer: clear and thorough. His well-known tangents during lectures make him one of the funniest profs on campus. I laugh everyday in class. However, expect to be challenged. His homework is difficult b/c he doesn't expect you to know the answer right away, but rather to come in and talk with him about it.

Phil is very funny! He teaches Calc as if everyone is taking it for the first time. Sometimes he moves kinda fast, but it doesn't hurt to ask questions. The homework load is not bad; you get like a week to work on it. Phil is a pretty good teacher. You should take his class!!!

Phil is AWESOME. He is the best math prof I have ever had. He explains things really well and has fun stories to break up the class every once in a while. I HIGHLY reccomend taking Phil if you get the chance. Oh and he has nice legs.

Phil is a great guy. He is very helpful. My biggest issue was that he goes of on weird tangents, so it is hard to know what is important and what is not. If you are struggling, ask for help. He is extremely helpful and will give you any advice or info you need. His class was tough, but it only made me work that much harder.

Phil's teaching style is hard to get used to. If you like a more structured class i would NOT recommend him. Known for his random tangents that are often right in the middle of an example problem. Some say he's funny, i would def. not agree... His class often got annoying to go to. HOWEVER, he is very very helpful if you take time out of class.
