Very caring for his students but it seems like he didn't know what he was doing with the class in general, there were a lot of projects completely unrelated to drawing and he barely taught us anything useful about it but he did give us experience with a lot of different mediums.

He is awesome! Really helps you on whatever you need help with. He's got a great personality and is pretty funny. Homework is really hard and you have to have lots of time for this class. He is really chill about breaks, you can leave to go get snacks or bathroom breaks whenever you want just DO NOT SKIP, you'll be so far behind!

Philip is the best!! The most awesome professor in the interior design department by far. He's really passionate about his work and that shows. He's also extremely caring and will help you in any way he can if you just ask. More teachers need to be like him.

Philip is my favorite professor in the ID dept. I still go to him for critique on my other class projects even though it's been a year since I've had his class. VP1 and Env Presentation are hard classes no mater who teaches it, but I'm thankful I had it with Philip. He has sympathy for our suffering and late night projects!

Phillip is the epitome of what a professor should be. Don't get me wrong, he is a tough grader and you have to work hard, but it is worth it. Phillip has taught me so much and has been such an inspiration to me. He loves what he does, and if you are willing, he is willing. ASK FOR GUIDANCE. He will be happy to help you in any way that he can.

Phillip is the BEST instructor you could ever have! Honestly he's the only teacher at SDSU that i've had that actually cares. He almost becomes more of a mentor. He has helped me improve my skills so much and I've truly grown as a designer in his classes. He helps you build your own style and he himself is talented! He made me LOVE my major.

Philip is always chipper and makes you feel happy to be a part of the program. Projects take HOURS every week, and can become overwhelming, but if you put in the time and effort you will do well!

Philip is very helpful, knows his stuff, has an excellent attitude, and knows when it's appropriate to be lenient. Very tolerant (never seen him angry or irked). The only thing is that his demos can get tedious but you can probably just sneak off and start working while he's preoccupied trying to demo. Also I think he might be Robin Williams.

I took Philip's class for VPI,II, & III. What more can I add that others have not already written on this site. Philip's constant support and encourement makes you want to show a continous high standard of work to make him proud. The other ID professors do not seem to grasp the idea that students need encouragement, we are afterall still learning.

This teacher while an easy going person was very vague and seemed to show an extreme amount of favoritism towards people who had taken VP1 with him. Time was not budgeted very well in class which resulted in the end being very crammed with work. I'd take Kwon instead.....he's stricter but I feel like I got more help and learned more.

I had Philip 3 semesters in a row for VP I, II, and III. He is an amazing person and one of the few encouraging and understanding instructors within the Interior Design department. He is by far my favorite collage instructor and the only instructor I've had at SDSU who I would also consider a friend.
