unclear is the best word. personality, 5/5. however, if you do get help, she will fix it, then come back and forge that she fixed said object, and tell you said object is wrong. have taken art 4 years in highschool, and have never dreaded a class like this because its been impossible to get above a mid b, at best. unclear directions, grading.

Least liked teacher so far. Very unclear instructions, and feedback, she will say something looks wrong, but not tell you what. No resubmitting work as of spring 2017. Just one example of her unfair grading, when doing value scales, and i checked with her about 5 times, she said it was saturated enough, got a C because it "wasn't saturated enough."

I've heard people say she's a tough grader, but I didn't really think so. I went into the class hating drawing and not being very good, but I left the class the complete opposite. She's super sweet and you'll learn a lot about becoming a better drawer!

One of my favorite professors at Iowa State! She obviously loves drawing and teaching, because she is amazing at both. She grades hard, but allows you to resubmit your drawings for a better grade. I love this woman!

Pappenheimer loves what she does . However, if you haven't had much experience drawing, you may have a hard time. She expects your best work, which makes her class a challenge. However, your work will greatly improve by the end of the class.

Lil' Deb is sucha cutie! She is bundle of joy! Every day I just want to put her in my pocket, not just because shes awesome but because she literally is pocket sized. But she is a tough grader so don't cross Lil' Debbie Cakes.

Amazing professor! Deb has helped me more than any other professor I have had so far. If you're taking 131 or 230, figure out which sections she teaches and switch into one asap! I wish she taught all of my design classes.

What a fun/cheery ol' girl! Such a great professor. Help is offered whenever it is needed and she is very forgiving!! You can re-enter your work if you're not happy with a grade so its not hard to get a decent grade even if you weren't gifted with the arts.

She was a great teacher. Really nice. She didn't explain things at first. She would just tell you what work you had to do and to go. Most of the time, everyone was like, "What are we supposed to be doing?" or, "How do we do this?" But, as soon as you asked her, she was happy to help, and explained everything.
