He is a great choice for ENGL101! I very much enjoyed his class. Class is not mandatory but be sure to let him know (via e-mail) ASAP when you won't be there so you can know what to catch up on before the next class. He starts out a very fair grader but progressively gets tougher on his students throughout the semester. Be prepared for many essays!

Professor Greenfield is a great English professor. He genuinely wants his students to succeed, and will help any way he can. Spend quality time on papers, and attend class (15% of grade) if you want to pass. He allows revisions for a better grade, and grades by conference, so students know exactly what hes looking for in the revisions.

Be prepared to "revise, revise, revise, revise." Professor Greenfield doesn't take it into consideration that his students are taking more than just his class. He is a tough grader, even if your paper is amazing he will give you a bad grade just to make you revise it over and over again. Plan on spending a lot of your time doing homework.

I enjoyed this class very much, Phillip keeps class interesting and fun. There were several papers but many of them are only a page, pretty easy as long as you pay attention in class.

Phillip Greenfield is the best profersor I've had yet! He is willing to work on the little things if need be with every and any student. He makes sure everyone understands what needs to be done and it the most helpful teacher I've ever had. He knows how to make the English subject fun and not such a burden for those who don't like it.

Very interesting lectures. Persuasive writing is the bulk of this class, and he kicks off the first assignment with a really fun subject matter. He gives meaningful feedback that pushes his students to be better writers. Fantastic class!

Professor Greenfield is a bit pretentious. While he has a lot to offer a student, his show of self importance can be very off putting. He is a very tough grader. He does offer the chance to improve and resubmit each paper at the mid and end of each semester, though.

You will write A LOT! Greenfield isn't clear at times when things are due. Most of the semester I wasn't sure of the due dates, what the assignment was, and etc. He does have an online syllabus so it makes it a little easier. You can rewrite any paper for a better grade but the first time you submit your paper Greenfield is a tough grader so beware
