Comment:

One of the greatest teachers I ever had at the Citadel. He is very knowledgable ad very fair. Be a good student, do the work, and pay attention and you will EARN an A, like I did. He gives you all the skills you need to have A's for the rest of your life in an English course, if you pay attention.

I was a student at The Citadel in 1977. Maj. Leon tried to fail me for an essay he said a college Freshman was not capable of writing. He confessed that he spent hours in the library trying to find a professional review of the poem I wrote about. Unable to do so, he gave me a D. Shameful.

If you read the textbook, pay attention in class, and take notes you'll do well in his class. He is very fair but you have to do the above because he'll trip you up if you don't. I'd suggest everyone take him for English!

He was very clear about his expectations for the class and believe me if you messed up on anything he went over in class expect an F. I learned a lot from this class ( my grade wouldnt show it). Only gave out one A on one paper to anyone the whole semester. Do not expect a good grade in this class but, he isnt a half bad teacher.

Do not expect a good grade. Even if you work really hard your papers will only improve by one letter or even off. He tells you to make certain corrections if you bring him your paper, and then screws you on things he didn't mention. Marked me for correctly using a colon on one paper and incorrectly on the next, done in the same fashion.You won't wi

Not the easiest teacher. Prepare to work hard - would not recommend if not 100% devoted to working hard. You'll learn a lot. Make sure to type your papers at least three days in advance, don't eat, don't sleep, don't crack your knuckles. If you're looking for the easy "A" this is not your class. You'll work hard, but it'll be worth it.

I have never made anything less than a B in English until I took Leon. You think he is funny at first but then he starts picking on people. He has favorates in the class. He thinks literature can only be interpreted one way, and if you dont interpret it his way then you are wrong. Don't take this guy you wont learn anything.

Major British Writers, the guy is a stiff....he teaches in a "i dont care what you have to say manner" who feels that its his way or the highway. Not only is he a complete ****bag, but he is constantly on the prowl for cadets using the Facutly bathroom's. I made a 3.7****and almost failed his class when i took him. STAY AWAY!!!

The best way to describe him is a crusty Army colonel who happens to be an English professor. He is, however, an excellent professor. Not for the thin-skined, but you will learn alot if you keep that in mind. Sometimes gives knobs more of a system then the school will! A fun class, on the whole, and quite informative.

He is demanding, but he has a great personality fair. His favoritism is not limited to army contracts. When receiving insults, he spews them out by the truck-load, hurl them back with the same skill and respect will be earned. Just be respectful, he's a colonel for crying out loud.

If you're an army contract then this guy will just give you a B. I took him the summer after I went to airborne school. I missed one test because I was in the infirmary and he told me I didn't have to make it up he'd just give me an A on it. However if you aren't Army Contract then avoind him.

If you didnt have good engilsh teachers in high school and english isnt your best subject DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY. I got a white slip for cracking my nuckles in class one day... he is worse than the cadre sometimes. Grading is unfair and he doesnt let you get outside help from anyone.

Hard teqcher, but if you do your paper the way he asks you to, and you check over it a couple of times, there is no reason you shouldnt at least get a B. Is pretty funny in class and often makes fun of students but all in fun and everyone laughs about it. Good teacher
