The professor gave so much homework and reading assignments but provides no feedback on anything. The course material was excellent. But, assignment were due before the class begin (the weekly topics). Class has a lot of potential.

One of the best professors I've had at CSUN (undergrad + grad), and one of the greatest teachers I've had in my entire life. Extraordinary knowledge of British Romanticism and critical theory. Brutal grader, but if you work with her she will whip you into shape. Very kind and personable, as well.

I took her again for my Sr. seminar & learned a LOT of theoretical application. Dr. Chatterjee is an amazing & intelligent Prof. She's knowledgeable w/ theories, a fair grader & gives many opportunities to practice writing application. Expect to do a lot of work & must do all the work & follow directions accordingly to earn a decent grade.

I've never been so proud of a B in my entire life! Chatterjee really knows her stuff & expects you to know it so well you could teach it. This class was extremely insightful & one of my fav classes. You must study all semester to keep up the final is cumulative. Do not take if you are not a serious student! Well worth the semester long migraine!

This woman is a saint. The work load is massive, but her grading and deadlines are pretty lenient. If you have time to read with every spare moment of your life, she's well worth taking.

If I could take Prof. Chatterjee every semester I would. I have learned an astounding amount in her classes. Yes, they are not "easy" but she is a fair grader and gives you A LOT of opportunities to ask for help and up your grade. Amazingly knowledgeable, friendly, clear, direct on what she expects from you and an overall fantastic professor!

Clearly the person below me is not ready to do the work required of an upper division literature class and should have dropped this class before week three. An accurate evaluation of any class cannot be written on weeks 3 or 4. Quit whining and do the work.

This class must be her entire existence. She clearly thinks it's OURS because she assigns SO MUCH. I have 7 required books for this class alone and you never leave class having to read a few pages from one. it will be chapters(PLURAL) from each along with handouts and such. A lot of pointless memorization on her tests too. don't take.

This course taught by Dr. Chatterjee is challengingly difficult yet highly rewarding. Her high expectations demand the most out of students. Lectures are very interesting and clear. I learned a LOT of aspects to the British Modernism and its literary criticisms. Go to her office hours, do all work. I plan to take her again. Not for lazy students.

I have so much respect for this woman. Chatterjee demands the best from her students, and you WILL work like you have never worked before, but you will learn in kind. She's an amazing professor: crazy intelligent, engaging, tough (but fair) and super nice. Truly one of the department, and CSUN's best. A tremendously rewarding challenge.

My hand still hurts. Chatterjee is NOT easy, but she tries to help you to do well. DO the assignments; they're the best tool to prepare yourself for her midterm/final. She's demanding--not cruel. Go to every single class! Lots of reading. Quizzes. And great lectures (she's thorough). Take lots of notes. Probably the best professor I've had at CSUN.

I had her for Crit.Theories and Romanticism. She is an amazing teacher. Be prepared to do a lot work! However, everything you do is pertinent to the understanding of the subject and helps you on midterms and finals. She has ID's on her exams, use an online flash card, it helps. I LOVE her and would take any class she taught! Very smart professor!

Professor Chatterjee is one of the best profs at CSUN. The class is hard, but she presents the material in a way that is understandable and clear. She is one of the most helpful professors I have ever had. I did not pass the class because I did not take it seriously, but I still enjoyed her class and definitely recommend taking 436 with her

She is a ballbuster - not only is the subject difficult, but she demands excellent writing from you as well, and the workload is intense. Expect to write 5-10 page papers WEEKLY. However, it was the best class I've ever taken. She's great, down to earth and really wants you to learn.

She is a great teacher, the class is not easy so be prepared. Make sure you read the tests, I forgot to answer a whole section and failed the final due to my missing a major part. I have to retake the class due to my stupidity. She is a great teacher and I look forward to taking her again to correct my messup.

Chatterjee is definitely knowledgeable in her field. She is very keen on introducing difficult topics in a fashion that is easy to digest. Her work load and expectations are set at high-- fitting for a 400 level course. Participation in class is highly encouraged. She also has a tendency to speak very fast, but will reiterate if prompted.

She's very enthusiastic about teaching. She covers a lot of material and you have to memorize a lot of stuff. One of the few classes where you actually use the book(s) so make sure you buy them. Overrall she's a good teacher
