Definitely would not advise to take this class!!! Homework has nothing to do with exams and he practically sits at his desk the entire time lecturing out of the book. Only shows examples when asked. Practically have to use the online module and other sites to teach yourself. If you struggle in math, switch out of the class.

Appears to put fourth minimal effort as an instructor. Lectures are unfocused and unclear. Homework is not reflective of tests and quizzes. He generally makes the class MUCH harder than the department final. Reads straight out of the book. You are basically forced to teach yourself all of the material.

Worst math teacher I've ever had! Don't take this class if you suck at math because he won't help, all he does is read out of the book and barely writes anything on the board as examples. He is contradicting, he'll say not to use calculators but then uses one. Tests don't match what's in class, ten times harder and grades tough. Homework is online.

This teacher doesn't even wait for you to ask questions before moving on with the lecture. First off, you shouldn't be lecturing math. You basically have to teach yourself on MyMathLab. Terrible teacher, wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy.

I'm on the deans list, I have 2 associates degrees already. I took AP Statistics in high school and passed with a B, yet I can't seem to pass a basic college algebra class? That doesn't make sense. This professor doesn't explain things, his tests and quizzes are hand written are nothing like the homework we do online. Hard to get ahold of.

His teaching style may be different than you are use to mostly because he uses methods that require more depth. The textbook was used for in class practice problems. All of the homework was online. The practice tests that are found in the syllabus are very similar to the actually tests and great for studying.

He lost mine and other students quizzes multiple times, tests are nothing like his lectures, he write his own tests which are very difficult. He doesn't care who passes and he doesn't teach right. I WOULD NOT recommend anyone to take his class.

Worst Teacher Ever. At one point during the class he screamed at a student and left. He never updates the grade book. We do all homework online through Pearson Math, he never updates the due date, so your grade is all messed up. He writes his own tests and they are awful. Nothing like what he goes over or the homework. DON'T TAKE HIM.

This teacher does not at all care if you pass. Told the class that his only job is to "teach you what you need to know to pass this class" and "grade papers to put into gradebook." Never asks for feedback from students about what he is teaching. Never upgrades blackboard. Horrible at his job. I have to teach myself absolutely everything

It is really hard to understand him during lecture mainly because he moves at his own speed and does not seem to care where students are. The exams are nothing like the homework, so it becomes tricky to do well. He also never uploads webcampus for grades and will not give you your grade if you ask. Without a tutor I would not understand anything.

Horrible teacher, did not explain things clearly and made unnecessary comments. The class only had tests and online practice which was only 10% of grade. This teacher makes math look more difficult than it truly is. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM, if you truly want to learn and have a teacher who really cares find someone else.

I don't know who you guys took but Mr. Baker is an excellent teacher. He has one of the most important qualities of a teacher, he actually cares whether you succeed or not and does his best to make sure that you do. I'd take one of his classes again if the opportunity presents itself. Just study for the tests and do the homework and you'll be fine.

Comment:

Professor is not easy to get ahold of (i.e. never in office, no cell, seldomly checks his email) and does not offer a university education. Class was doing so bad 1st exam was take home, 2nd was nulled, and Final Exam was curved along with the Final Grade. Don't take this class if you want to earn your grade with confidence and peace of mind.
