Stahl is one of the better professors at teaching economics. However, for this class, homeworks were very hard. All midterm questions came from the book. Every exam had 1 or 2 extra credit questions for undergrad students. The final was very hard, but he curved it by 45 points!

Took him for the summer intersession class and it was very straightforward. He is very intense and is LOUD randomly. For a subject that is boring already, he does his best to teach you why the material is relative in you life. He provides very good information in class so take VERY detailed notes. For tests study notes and textbook bc hard subject

This class was my hardest class at LSU so far. However, I feel like I learned a lot. Stahl's tests are really hard, so you need to study for multiple days for each exam and try to keep up with the material because it just becomes too much by the end. Has office hours at 7-8am so really hard to visit him during his office hours.

I took him for 2035 and I'm back for sport econ. Taking him again for math econ. I really like him but this may be an unpopular opinion. He loves what he teaches but it can be difficult to keep up sometimes. Test from straight from lecture, so go, pay attention, take notes. 3 tests and final, curves each test up.

Stahl is a great professor and passionate so sometimes he gets to shouting in class but he is very knowledgeable about the subject. Get real, economics is hard and you won't be handed a good grade. He is tough, but he also curves. You do have to put in extra time to understand it but that is what he says he wants you to do. Not just memorizing. A+

Class is not easy but you will learn a lot of you go to class and pay attention. Stahl is very knowledgable and passionate about Econ. I'm an Econ major so I enjoyed the class. expects you to take the iniatiave for learning the material but further explains important concepts in class. Would take again.

Very good teacher. If you read the textbook and go to class you will do fine. 15-20% curve on every test. no homework. kind of intimidating and somewhat insane, can be funny. good examples, and questions from students can help.

If ECON is not you thing, do not take him. He knows what he is talking about but when you don't understand he is no help. He doesn't offer SI sessions or homework opportunities. It is three tests and one exam. I would try to go in for help and it was pointless. Just be prepared to study hard and actually read the book.

Stahl was incredibly passionate about economics. His lectures were very interesting and I am taking him again for 2035. However, his tests are impossible and no matter how much I studied, I got nothing higher than an 85. I wanted a B or an A but it just wasn't possible for me, since the class lacks any points besides exams.

This guy is ridiculous. Our class covered 23 chapters in the time every other ECON 2000 section covered 14. His tests are very difficult, and he doesn't go into much detail in class. The only way to pass is to read, and read well. The only grades are the three tests and final for a whopping total of 150 points. Stay clear if you can.

Newsflash: any econ class you take is going to be challenging. That being said if you want a good grade be prepared to WORK for it. His tests are extremely difficult. He's extremely passionate and knowledgable about economics and his lectures definitely show that. He may seem intimidating but always willing to answer questions and help students.

He's very passionate about Econ so he tends to yell a lot, but he explains things very well and will answer questions if you ask them in class. There was no HW and the test were tough. Read the book and go to class and take notes and you should be fine. I think he may have curved a little toward the end.

Stahl was by far the worst class i took. The exams were nothing like the notes we took in class and he didn't tell us. Average on all 3 exams was 54, and the other two were below 50's and he wouldn't curve more than 20 points. Busted my tail just to get a B in the class. Avoid at all costs.

First of all, Econ is not for the faint of heart. You have to work at it and get into it to understand the ins and outs. With that said, the key to doing well in Dr. Stahl's class is reading the material and doing practice problems. Sports Econ was fun & intriguing. Don't fret if you are not a big sports buff; this class doesn't dwell on that.
