Taught many great classical guitar techniques. Testing 2 times a week in summer short term semester (playing a piece in pairs or on your own). You don't have to play them perfectly (I still got an A!); choice of bringing your own guitar (even electric is OK!). Just do your best! No guitar rentals available in summer. Take him you won't regret it!:)

You will have an exam every week, but don't freak out, the exam is playing a short song that he keeps teaching it to u over and over again until u r ready to play it. If you have no idea about chords then you need to practice at ur home. If you plan to skip classes then stay home. He is an easy, and a patient teacher. He has office hours too.

Very chill guy. He is very nice and patient no matter what level you're at. The class is a mix between people who have played their entire lives and people who have never picked up a guitar.

He's a pleasant prof that makes intro to guitar not too difficult. Sometimes he goes over material too quickly because of more experienced players. Mostly he's understanding & helpful to beginners. He will spend extra time if needed & speak up. The experienced players in the beginner class are what makes the class a little harder, not the prof.

He is awesome. I don't understand anything about musical notes before i took his class. He is patient to answer the questions. He defines notes clearly and uses alphabet to help students understand the note and remember the notes easier. Do not miss the class, he will review and go over the notes in class.

Riner is a great musician, but a LAZY "TEACHER." I worked hard in his class, did all of the tests, and transcribed solos on my own.. but he still said I wasn't "as good as the other students in the class." ?? He also gave A's to students who never came to class.

Scivally is a kind person and is easy to talk to, but he's not exactly a teacher. He seems to care more about his own playing and is more concerned with passing the time. He is usually unorganized and unprepared when teaching (you can see this unprofessionalism at the Improv concert as well). Dan Cole is even harder, but more fair & clear.

This guy rocks! He knows how to teach, and is very kind. He is just awesome! At first I thought I wouldn't learn to play the guitar. But geez, he made it look so easy! He's one of my fave teachers in PCC! So understanding and he really cares about his students..

Jazz improv class- take his class if you want to improve your improvising. A little basic, but lots of opportunities for soloing. Also a GREAT guitar player. He has some of the best phrasing i've ever heard of any jazz soloist, and he just sounds great. See him in concert if you have the chance.

He's fun and respectful. He is sensitive to how you feel, so you will not feel too bad when he talks to you. Great guitarist, I mean this guy can really play! I enjoyed everything in class except for playing outloud, but that is mandatory for every class, so it's ok. If you're going take guitar, hah.. get ready to feel pain from your fingers.
