Professor Grimes isn't clear in his lectures & what he expects from students. He makes the final worth 40% of the final grade and it is cumulative. You need to absolutely make sure you know the difference between every period and composer and be able to hear the nitty gritty tone changes. You'll need to make this class your life.

Gives tough, cumulative quizzes throughout the year. Hard listening tests. Makes you watch 2 concerts and write reports about them. Lectures are not helpful. You will learn a lot about opera. He is bad with technology and his teaching style doesn't make sense. He gets upset if you don't participate. Not impossibly hard but not easy.

i had him as my advisor...he was horrible. never listened to me, occassionally said mean things to me like that i'm going to hell...i think i might have been kidding, but it was still scary. he is the worst advisor. never helpful and very bossy
