Very dull for sure, but also very bright. Knows his stuff! Thankfully, we only had 5 in class sessions. Otherwise I might have another opinion!

Very boring. Did not get anything out of the class. I learned more from the people in my class about what they do in their classrooms than him. All he talks about is reading recovery and he lectures the whole time. I learned nothing from him.

Comments from members of his family do not count. This man is more confusing than the Chinese channel after 10 Coors Light's. Lecturing grad students who just finished a day of teaching is not the most effective method, yet he loves it and wonders why we're tired. Eventually, he ran out of material... and so have I.

Absolute waste of time! Bull if anyone thinks paying attention helps with anything. He is boring and unclear! He will not answer your question, but instead beats around the bush. I walked away knowing very little new information! I already learned more in RDG 414 from the first class than the whole semester in his class!

Prof. Schwartz is a really nice guy. He can be a little dull at times, but he teaches really important information. The assignments are not that hard. The exam is long, but if you pay attention in class it won't be too difficult. It is easy to see that he really cares for what he is teaching.

I heard stories about how hard he was but he isn't that bad. You learn a lot of information that will help you down the road. I had no problem talking to him for help on assignments. His midterm was long and took me the whole class time to take it but he takes in consideration others things while grading it so dont worry. Overall, good professor

I really liked his phil. of ed. class. I thought he was pretty funny. I enjoyed hearing his ideas, reading the assigned texts, and listening to his writing. I thought it was a pretty thought provoking class even though most people in there were apathetic and didn't care or connect the info. SAD

It was a lot of student led discussion. We wrote four papers, group project, and wrote a field journal.I got into the discussion a lot.I think we become teachers because we also want to learn & debate what really works with students. If you have no opinion & dont want to share with other dont teach!

This class could not have been more useless. It was tremendously easy -- I never opened the text and got a 4.0. If you get him, don't both with the lectures, unless you need a good nap.

Dr. Schwartz is the head of the reading department. I was uncomfortable talking to him and the majority of the class felt that way as well. Very Boring - Lectured the whole class with a monotone voice. Very hard grader with very hard tests!
