He does not respect his students and will talk down to them. While his office hours are helpful in that he gives you all the answers, he has been known to embarrass students for it. He also is a very harsh grader on tests but not on homework. You'll get an answer right on the homework and he'll ask it again on the test and you'll get it wrong.

He's very passionate about Econ, but is a bad professor. Even with printed out slides, he talks so fast that it makes lectures nearly impossible to comprehend. He'll ramble on about things that could be summed up quickly & comes off as very intense. This class doesn't require any previous Econ, but taking 103/4 before should be a prerequisite.

If you have thin skin or do not want to try, don't take him. He will have no problem embarrassing you if you are not prepared. If you have thick skin, TAKE HIM! He gives some of the best feedback that I have ever gotten. I switched my major mid-semester and I do not regret taking this class for a second. Buy into what he says and you will do well.

He doesn't teach very good at all. He just rambles on and on at such a fast pace using many economic terms that he never explained making it nearly impossible to keep up. He's also disrespectful answering questions making you sound dumb. He's a tough grader and finds a way to take points off. The HW is hard, lengthy and barely helped on the tests.

Jamelske is an interesting professor, he's very aggressive when taking answers from the class. He's rude and likes to yell his lectures, would recommend taking someone else.

He knows his stuff, but will judge you on your answers in a harsh manner. If you go and get help on homework, erase your answers and take what he gives you. I did not take principles with him, but I can't imagine how he teaches those classes. He did give out candy some days which was a nice gesture, but he would expect a lot from your answers.

He requires you to print off power point slides for his class because he teaches the class at such a fast pace. Jamelske is very knowledgeable of what he is talking about. If you pay attention in class you should do fine. However, the final exam does require some studying. His grading system is unique, awarding grade points for everything.

Probably the worse teacher I've had. His approach to getting students involved is very aggressive. Quite mean and is not afraid of calling you out for asking questions. He says to email him with any questions but will make you feel bad and even sometimes not even help out. If you can dodge him, I recommend it. Hard grader as well.

It is obvious that Dr. Jamelske knows what he's teaching, but he can often come off as condescending and rude. Lots of extra credit that can go towards homework and quiz scores. VERY willing to help through office hours and emails and really does want his students to understand economics. As long as you have a sense of humor you'll be fine.

Dr. J drove me absolutely crazy. I felt bad for students who raised their hand in class, because he would shut down their idea and make them feel stupid. On the written portion of exams, if your answer didn't match up 100 percent with his correct answer, you'd get points off and he'd write "SEE KEY" or "This makes no sense!!!" Underlined 3 times

Eric is CRAZY!!! He is extremely passionate about econ and gets carried away and is over the top at times. He really wants you to love econ. Very lecture heavy, tests weren't too hard and he lets you work with others on homework. Does provide extra credit at the end of the semester. Get ready to agree with his opinions or be called out.

Professor J is a great professor. He is very passionate about Economics and it definitely shows and makes him a great teacher. He is very intense and talks fast but he is very helpful when you contact him through e mail to ask about the class or in person. Econ is challenging but J is more than willing to help.

It isn't very difficult to get a decent grade in this class. HOWEVER, I dreaded coming to lecture because he's intimidating and downright rude and condescending to his students. He once called out a girl in front of the whole class for not taking a handout out of her folder fast enough. He treated us like we were new to education. AVOID him.

Jamelske is clearly very passionate about economics, which is good and all, except he is very excitable and talks extremely fast. His lectures have vague definition slideshows and quick obscure whiteboard sketches without much explanation. When you express confusion, he responds in a condescending tone and makes it seem like your fault.

I think Dr. J might be legitimately insane, but he's also a really good economics professor. He made economics fun and seemed to really enjoy helping his students learn. The class was mostly graded on tests, but he held study sessions where he literally gave you the short answer questions. I would definitely recommend taking Dr. J for ECON 103.

Professor Jamelske is literally the worst professor I have ever had in my college career of 5 years. WARNING. Do NOT approach him with any sort of question before class starts. He will yell at you in front of everyone. He has a ignorant personality and makes you feel stupid for asking questions. My advice, he needs to work on his manners. Stay away

Jamelske does not care about his students and is very rude if you ask questions. I know you will probably have to take this class but get ready for the worse class ever. He is inconsiderate and only cares about himself and his opinion. Every class I hated it more and more. Good luck.

Content of class not tough, but way he presents the material and how lectures make it hard to be successful. Extremely RUDE and condescending towards students. Requires you to print out his handouts to take notes that way, even if you find it to be ineffective for your learning style. SO sorry for HCAD majors who are required to take him.
