Very interesting, this guy really knows his stuff. He's tough to take but not impossible, take lots of notes and study them hard and read the chapters. Do not sleep in class, you cannot pass if you do not take notes in class. Very helpful, get to know him, it helps your grade.

Steed is a bright teacher with a wealth of knowledge for Political Science. He's southern, and difficult to understand and times. Take lots of notes and read the chapters! Also, everything you write will be marked off at least one point if you do not write what he says in class word for word. Tough classes, but manageable.

Steed needs to retire. I too took his Presidential Leadership class (for my minor) and I was expecting to learn something about leadership and..well..the president. Instead, it was an in-depth look at the US government, which is fine, but that's why I took the class "US government" freshman year. His essays are impossible to score highly on too.

His class is so boring, I could cry. He's knowledgable, but a horrible communicator. His tests are near impossible and he doesn't care about the sutdents for the most part. I would never take him again, nor would I ever wish any person would have to take him. I took Pres. Leadership and the word "leadership" never came up.

If you are a Political Science major, he is the guy that you want. Gets very in depth in ALL topics and you MUST stay awake since his tests come from the notes (It is hard sometimes to stay awake). Good teacher.

He is avery good teacher, he knows his stuff. If you are not from the south/know a little bit about it's history and politics, DONT take this class. If you do know about this stuff, then take the class and you will learn more. Tests are all based on class notes you could never crack the book and get an A.

Ok in all seriousness...I have taken this professor and i swear it will be my last. I took the chance of taking this guy hoping that the TWO positive reviews would help me out. I was wrong. No matter how hard i studied i still failed. Don't ever take this guy. My 3.7 went straight downhill.

I took online quizes for a 3 chapter test of his, got perfect scores on all of them, and got a D on his test which was alledgedly on the same 3 chapters. Take him though its better than Mays. Tests are all on how he interprets the chapters in class.

oh Mine!Yall who gave Dr.Steed a good rating must have been CRAZY! This man is the BORIEST teacher. HE will put you to Sleep, Even the smart Kids don't do well. Over half the class has D's or F's. He is the only competent professor in the whole Pol.Sci./Crm.Jus. dept. He knows everything concerning his subjects. He would be a great history professor, but because the pol.sci. majors normally have it so easy, they find him hard. If you want to learn something, take him. He's a great professor.
