Comment:
He started out teaching math. Albeit in a very confusing and unorganized way. He would get through entire problems, realize he messed up, and then erase it never trying to correct himself. Toward the end, he would talk for fifty minutes about pretty much anything he had on his mind. Easy A but also you will not learn a thing. Didn't have a Canvas.

Had 98% overall homework grades. Never got higher than a D on exams. Lectures are unclear and example problems are often wrong. Wasn't helpful when questions were asked, and never seemed very approachable.

He does most of the work in his head. Gets confused,he doesn't talk very loud and kind of mumbles, teaches things in a pretty confusing way. I attended the lectures but taught myself everything online. Homework every week, 3 pretty hard tests, one positive is his reviews for the tests are usually accurate to what will be on it.

Comment:
Do not take math 150 with Dr. Chermak! On average he gets 2 example problems wrong during the lectures. Rarely does he even give answers to the example problems. 2 direct quotes from his lectures are "the answer is a mystery" or "i have no idea how to do this problem", and there are many more that are just as appalling. Would not recommend.

He is awful at writing exams. Every exam he wrote had several questions that we never learned or went over. He doesn't properly prepare you for the test as his lectures are very confusing and misleading. I would highly suggest not having him as a teacher.

Andrew Chermak is the worst teacher I've had so far at KSU. He is disorganized and confusing. I feel like I leave each class worse off then I was before. Everything I learned I had to teach myself, or learn in my Math Recitation. He regularly get's 90% of the way through an example and realizes he messed up and has to redo the whole thing.

I loved having Chermak as a teacher. I thought he was hilarious. He was able to take complex topics and make them easier. The tests weren't super easy, but if you do the homework and really pay attention during the review class (he drops hints) then you will be fine. I'd recommend this professor!

Comment:
Dr. Chermak is overall a good teacher. He has a unique sense of humor which unfortunately many students don't catch. He does often leave a long problem at "do-able" or equal to "whatever", but that is only after working past the current material. I personally didn't mind this, but some do. Overall, Chermak is a really nice guy and good teacher.

I thought Chermak was a great teacher. He shows you the general idea of how to solve the problems and from that you should be able to do the homework. I feel people get mad a Chermak because they did not learn anything from Calc 1 and he expects you to know everything from Calc 1.

Comment:
Dr. Chermak was difficult to understand in lectures, as he stammered a lot, made unclear assumptions, and his teaching style is difficult to follow. However, in recitation, and during office hours, he was very helpful and clear, and made sure I left knowing more than when I came. Maybe he just gets nervous, who knows?

Comment:
He isn't difficult. The tests are very basic, however he said the final will be easier than previous exams (which was a lie). He only uses textbook examples to teach, which makes lecture pointless and he screws up over half of the problems he does for the class. In recitation he was just as bad at explaining things. Overall though, he is not bad.

He is a funny guy. Bounces around a lot. Off the walls kind of guy, very entertaining. Friendly. Not always clear, and will mess up from time to time. Good Notes. Test is fair. I would take his class again. He is a great person.

Occasionally stumbled on words during lectures. His tests are usually extremely fair (Our final had a few extremely difficult questions). Always has class time to review for exams.

Idk why people get uptight when he works through the meat of an integral and once he breaks it down into an easy integral he sets it to "do-able". He conserves time in lectures by doing that. Pay attention in class and practice practice practice, its the only way to succeed in that class.

In my opinion, he was a bit scatterbrained, but he really did know the material. His enthusiasm was there. And in Calc 2, there isn't time to do all the number crunching which most students know how to do anyway. The numbers aren't critical to understanding the methods. I learned a ton from his lectures.

Terrible teacher. Mumbles throughout lecture and says "uh" over 500 times a class period. Tests are nearly impossible. Lecture notes rarely make sense and do not align with the text book. Avoid him at all costs, especially if you value your GPA

Stumbling, stuttering guy. Confuses himself, doesn't work problems out, and doesn't even know half the material himself. He seems quite jolly, but by the time his humor surfaces, it's already too late, you've just gotten hit with one of his lectures, which are nothing but a combination of "uh's" and "um's." I have him for recitation too...FML.

His lectures are terrible. He has had to use students' notes multiple times because he was confused in a lecture. Other times he'll leave a problem halfway done on the board and set it equal to "do-able."

He is an unkempt jolly little fellow. He can teach, but it's Calc 2. As a student you have to work to understand the material. He takes bribes.
