I took this class online. Throughout the class I started to wonder if this is his first time teaching an online class. Instructions on modules were oftentimes vague or just flat out wrong. For example, the module would say to submit a task via email when there was a submission area in the module. The correct way was apparently through the module.

Rodney is a great professor. He treats his students like adults and not children. I look froward to going to his class everyday. definitely recommend him.

Comment:

A real sweetheart that is willing to help you and answer any questions you may have. He makes the class fun to be in with not only class activities but class potlucks here and there. He helps make the learning easy to understand and will sometimes encourage and give personal narratives with his lessons. I have already registered for Span 2 with him

Comment:

Rodney has a unique approach to teaching. He uses stories to explain culture and if the language eludes you as it did me--there are plenty of opportunities for extra credit. He is very fair in grading but doesn't suffer fools easily. I highly recommend taking any course with Hot Rod as he is called by some of his female students. A great teacher.

Very dispiriting. I hate going to this guy's class. He loves to talk and tell stories, but I feel like if I don't learn it from the book, I'm not going to learn it at all. Very off-topic telling personal stories that are both irrelevant and inappropriate. Loves to boast about himself.

This class took away my Spanish motivation. He uses irrelevant stories which are fun for him but not for us and don't help. He was unclear about how important the workbook was, never showed us how to use it. The final project was amusing to him but did not help us learn. He didn't follow learning outcomes. Not recommended.

Professor Ulibarri is a highly motivated Spanish professor. He enjoys teaching the language. Show up to class, do the work and learn some Spanish along the way. This is not a difficult class with a little bit of work!!

Professor Ulibarri is an excellent professor. He cares about his students and if they succeed in his class. He will go out of his way to help you succeed. Don't waste your time or his if you don't plan on doing all the work. I'd highly recommend taking this class!He's passionate about languages and has a lot to offer someone who wants to learn.

If you like liars, story tellers, people with self inflated images then take his class, one rating I saw indicated that he is a convincing liar, the person rating actually believed he is a world class skater. It's amazing how good his lies are, so much so that people actually believe him. He plays on his poor vision for sympathy.

Rodney loves linguistics and loves those who care about the beauty and truth in language. He's not for everyone, but if you would like to take a class with a world class figure skater who also designs clothes and engages in comics cosplay, he's your guy! Highly recommended.

Rodney is an awesome instructor. Very helpful too. He keeps the class interested. He tells crazy stories and uses culture to teach the language. I really recommend him. I'm actually going to take him for Spanish 1102 next semester.

Rodney is funny! He links a lot of Spanish words with stories, and they are hilarious. His class if fun, but do not take him if you can't handle a little drama or some out of this world jokes. He is a funny professor, and he loves both teaching Spanish and the Spanish culture. A lot of opportunities for extra credit, for instance field trips...etc.

Comment:

Rodney loves teaching Spanish, and it is obvious. He would also be a very good drama instructor. There is a bit of drama in his class, and he might have a few favorites. However, all that aside, Rodney knows his Spanish, and he can teach it. It's a fun class unless you are an uptight person. Rodney's class isn't for the uptight.

Comment:

Professor Ulibarri is a great instructor and he is funny and tries to keep the material very fun and we participate in practicing learning the spanish language. The only thing I didn't like were his timed 1000 pt tests and the accent syllables had to be copy/pasted from somewhere else but he gave us potlucks and field trips so it was a fun class.

Rodney is like the male version of wonder woman...Incomparable!I adored his class, he made learning easy and fun. I highly reccommend his class but only if you have a good sense of humor!
